According to mathematician and fractal geometry expert B.B. Mandelbrot, a fractal is "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole."Federal Way resident Jason Padgett, a student at Tacoma Community College, can draw the fractal equivalent for numbers such as pi (∏) and equations such as Albert Einstein's famous E=mc2.

Do you get the principle behind the balancing of scales? Between how weights get balanced on a scale? Great! That’s pretty much all you need to know to solve equations. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and see for yourself.
We at Byju's Classes strongly believe that a spirit of learning and understanding can only be inculcated when the student is curious, and that curiosity can be brought about by creative and effective teaching. It is this approach that makes our lectures so successful and gives our students an edge over their counterparts.

If you use key words to teach word problems to students, you may be doing more harm than good.
Sarah Powell from UT shows the dangers of using key words when teaching math to students and offers suggestions for how to better help students understand key concepts. If you are teaching math at any grade level, this video is a must see.

Have you been on a see-saw before? The weight has to be the same on both sides for the see-saw to be balanced, otherwise it would be tilted to one side.⚖️
Balancing equations works in the same manner and a student would have to apply the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division altogether in order to solve the equation. Learn more about the concept of balancing equations from Mrs Monica Leong in our P1 Math lesson!

View more at www.MathAndScience.com. In this lesson, you will learn how to solve percent problems that you are likely to encounter in everyday situations. A percent is expression a fraction when the denominator is equal to 100. The word "percent" means "per 100". A typical problem might ask that 6 is what percentage of 12. In order to solve this, we need to set up a proportion, where we solve for the numerator of the fraction, which we will then circle as the percentage for our final answer. To solve these problems, we will also learn to solve equations and use the rules of algebra to find the final answer.
In this video we will learn about basic algebraic formulas.

There's a lot of different ways when it comes to math hacks. Here are just a few examples:
-If you're trying to do long division and are having trouble keeping track of all the digits, try using a pencil to keep track of your place. Draw a line under the number you're currently working on, and then draw a line above the number you're dividing by. This will help you keep your place and make sure you don't make any mistakes.
-If you're trying to add or subtract a large number of digits, try breaking the number down into smaller chunks. For example, if you're trying to add 753 + 872, you could break it down into 700 + 800 + 50 + 70 + 2. This will make it much easier to add up, and you're less likely to make a mistake.
-If you're having trouble memorizing your multiplication tables, try using a simple mnemonic device. For example, for the 7 times table, you could use the phrase "Seven times up, never down," which would remind you that 7 x 7 = 49. There are lots of different mnemonic devices out there, so find one that works for you.
