This is a short clip that shows the first part of a video that teaches how to subtract with regrouping. The full video is on our youtube channel now. Subscribe and check it out. This was meant for 2nd graders but can be used by any child at that stage of learning. Subtraction can be hard to learn which is why we made this video to help kids in this process.

No one on Earth knows how to reverse one of the most popular computer algorithms. Yet it's really easy to compute one-way. You could make billions of dollars if you solved this mathematics problem, which is computed quintillions of times per second in the race for mining Bitcoin. SHA256 has some amazing properties, is useful for digital signatures, cryptography, authentication, and is a central part of the Bitcoin protocol.

Bitcoin and other "crypto-currencies" rely on one-way hash functions like the SHA-256 algorithm to secure the blockchain where all the transactions are kept.
In this video, I explain some of the big-picture ideas behind this one function. Other cryptocurrencies use similar ideas.

1.OA.D.7: Work with addition and subtraction equations. Understand the meaning of the equal sign, and determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false.
“What’s X?” is a card game in which 2 players construct equations which is equal to the variable x who ever has no number cards remaining wins. The concepts this game features are algebra and expression & equations, the game helps kids understand these concepts in a fun way.
According to mathematician and fractal geometry expert B.B. Mandelbrot, a fractal is "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole."Federal Way resident Jason Padgett, a student at Tacoma Community College, can draw the fractal equivalent for numbers such as pi (∏) and equations such as Albert Einstein's famous E=mc2.
