This video shows a step by step procedure to finding volume of a rectangular prism.
We use the formula volume = length x width x height.
Notice because we use 3 measurements when we work out the volume of a 3D shape we end with an answer in cubic units (units^3).
We then look out how to work out the volume of composite objects - that is the volume of objects containing more than one shape.

Dividing by multiples of 10 is simple to do.
First count the number of zeros in the number you are dividing by, then move the decimal place of the number being divided the same number of times.

This mental multiplication math trick uses the idea of a third number - a base number - to help us multiply two numbers in your head. This series of videos first looks at multiplying numbers near 10 using base 10. The second video looks at multiplying using base 20 and 30. Exponent notation (also called index notation) is a shorthand way of writing repeated multiplication. The base is the number that is being multiplied and the exponent (index) is the number of time it is multiplied.
