*I am providing this version as people have given me trouble for the line "haber hube", since "hubo" (there was/were) is the most common form of the verb in the preterite.
I have changed the line "no acentos" to "no hay acentos" as it still fits ok and is better grammar in Spanish.

This video covers another verb irregular in the preterite: poder (to be able, can).
This verb is most popular with my students in such present tense phrases as '¿Puedo ir al baño?' (Can I go to the bathroom?) o '¿Puedo ir a la fuente de agua?' (Can I go to the water fountain?). But of course those aren't really useful in this video since we're going over the preterite (a past tense) of poder.

Hello all! It's a new year. Possibly a time to re-invent oneself or try new things.
So I thought it would be fun to try and do a mini-lesson each day on some useful phrase in Spanish for the month of January.
Some might be more useful than others! I did have some video editing problems so this one came a little later than planned.

Here’s a quick Spanish lesson on making sentences in Spanish.
Someone asked me a while back to make a video on simple sentences. I hadn’t thought of how tricky that might be to some. As a learner, I always thought of Spanish as a code. Maybe this code will help you as well!
Basically it involves a subject and a verb. And we can also add some other things to the sentence. In this video we’ll talk about one of those things: indirect objects and give some examples.
Basically if you can answer what the sentence is being done TO or FOR, you have your indirect object.
