Using the MaKey MaKey you can make anything into a key (get it?) just by connecting a few alligator clips. The MaKey MaKey is an invention kit that tricks your computer into thinking that almost anything is a keyboard. This allows you to hook up all kinds of fun things as an input. For example, play Mario with a Play-Doh keyboard, or piano with fruit!

I bought the makey makey go and received it recently. Had no clue how to use it but I thought it would be worth trying it for the first time in front of the camera. I had no clue what I was doing but it's a start.

Demo video for how to create and share a Play-doh piano with Makey Makey. Use alligator clips to plug into Play-doh keys and play with our piano app- or even use it with our buzzer app!

In this Makey Makey basics tutorial of STEAM activities, I’ll use inspiration from the book “20 Ways to Draw a Tree” by Eloise Renouf to make a graphite pencil drawing that is connected to Makey Makey. I’ll use the 4 Seasons as the theme for this piece. We’ll check out the YouTube audio library as well as Zapsplat for some sound effects to play with our art piece. Lastly, it’s time to synchronise our works of art with Scratch and bring them to life.
