Normal Force on a Hill, Centripetal Force, Roller Coaster Problem, Vertical Circular Motion, Physics
This physics video tutorial explains how to calculate the normal force at the bottom and at the top of the hill given the speed and radius of the circular hill. This video provides the free body diagram needed to derive the formulas to calculate the normal force at those positions. In addition, this tutorial discusses how to find the minimum speed that a roller coaster must have so passengers don't fall out and the maximum speed an object can travel on top of a hill without losing contact with the surface. The normal force provides the centripetal force in these problems. This video contains plenty of examples and vertical circular motion practice problems.

This physics video tutorial explains how to calculate the magnitude of the electric dipole moment and its direction. An electric dipole is simply the combination of a positive charge and a negative charge that have the same magnitude but opposite signs. This video shows you how to calculate the forces exerted on a dipole, the rotational torque acting on it, the potential energy due to its rotation in an electric field, and the work required to rotate it from one angular position to another. This video involves some knowledge of calculus and integration of trigonometric functions such as sine and cosine. This video contains a few practice problems and examples.

This electronics video tutorial explains how to build a 12V DC power supply using a 220V AC power source, conventional diodes, zener diodes, capacitors, resistors, and a transformer. The step down transformer brings the 220V AC voltage to 13V AC. The conventional germanium diodes form a full wave bridge rectifier converting AC to DC. The zener diode acts a voltage regulator and the capacitor reduces ripple voltage and converts the pulsating DC wave into a smooth DC output. The series current limiting resistor reduces the surge current that flows through the diode when the capacitor is charging.

This calculus video tutorial explains provides a basic introduction into how to solve first order linear differential equations. First, you need to write the equation in standard form [y' + P(x)y = Q(x)] and then identify the functions P(x) and Q(x). Next, you need to determine the integrating factor I(x) using the formula I(x) = e^(integral of P(x)dx). Finally, you can use another formula to find the general solution of the first order linear differential equation y = 1/I(x) [Integral(I(x)Q(x)dx + C]. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems on solving first order linear differential equations.

This trigonometry video tutorial provides a basic introduction to the double angle identities of sine, cosine, and tangent. It explains how to derive the double angle formulas from the sum and difference identities of sin, cos, and tan and how to use the double angle formulas to find the exact value of trigonometric expressions using right triangle trigonometry and SOHCAHTOA. This video contains many examples and practice problems for you to learn this material.

This precalculus video provides a basic introduction into parametric equations. It explains the process of eliminating the parameter t to get a rectangular equation of y in terms of an x variable. It also discusses how to graph plane curves which is the same as graphing parametric equations. This video is useful for high school and college students taking precalculus or calculus 2. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems including parametric equations that contain trigonometry such as sine and cosine functions which leads to the graphs of conic sections such as circles and ellipses.

This calculus 2 video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the ratio test. Examples include the ratio test with factorials, exponents, fractions, and square roots. If the limit of the ratio of next term with the previous is less than 1, the series converges. If it's more than 1, the series divergence. If the limit equals 1, the ratio test is inconclusive.
