If you ask a linguist “How many languages are there in the world?” the answer most will give you is “around 7000”. We say “around” because there are several factors that make it difficult to determine what exactly counts as a language, including the difficulty of distinguishing between languages and dialects, various political factors, and the fact that not all languages have the same degree of resources and records. In this episode of Crash Course Linguistics, we’ll explore these 3 factors to learn about world languages and linguistic diversity, as well as the inequities that these factors can create.

I denne afsluttende video skal eleverne forene programmering og matematik med cykler. Sofie Østergaard viser, hvordan en cykel kan bruges til at måle omkreds og længde, og hvordan eleverne kan bruge micro:bit til at måle afstand på en cykel.

Eleverne kan måle omkredsen på et cykelhjul eller noget andet cirkelformet, og de kan beregne, hvor mange omgange hjulet skal tage for at tilbagelægge en kilometer.

På baggrund af den programmering på micro:bit, som eleverne lavede tidligere, kan de nu måle afstand på cykel ved brug af micro:bit.

Forløbet fokuserer på kompetenceområderne matematiske kompetencer og geometri og måling. I forløbet arbejdes med geometriske metoder og beregning af enkle mål i forbindelse med måling af radius og omkreds.

Eleverne skal gennem undersøgelse, dataopsamling samt statistisk behandling af data skabe grundlag for at undersøge sammenhængen mellem programmering og de resultater, som målingerne viser. Forløbet lægger således op til, at eleverne skal anvende matematiske regler og formler samt skabe en sammenhæng mellem teori og praksis.

Formålet med forløbet er desuden at løfte elevernes læring, motivere dem og styrke deres trivsel med undervisning af en gæstelærer, der er en faglig kapacitet på sit felt.
