The near-term acceleration of the rate of temperature change shows an urgent need for research on the impacts of these changes for the environment and the human-built world. So, do we really need to grow into space? How can we do it in a sustainable way? It is high time for an integrated discussion of space matter with planetary concerns.

Our new comic series 'Space Rocks' will address these concerns adapted from the latest research articles. Stay tuned for more information.

The negative impacts of climate change fall disproportionately on low income communities and communities of color, and yet they are too often underrepresented in conversations about solutions to climate change. Schools must center equity and follow the lead of these communities to advance environmental justice.

K12 Climate Action is on a mission to unlock the power of the education sector to be a force for climate action, solutions, and environmental justice. Learn more about K12 Climate Action at K12ClimateAction.org.

Descriptive Transcript:

Climate change impacts everyone, but not equally. The negative impacts of climate change fall more on communities of color and low-income communities. Too often, their experiences are left out of the climate conversation, but these voices belong at the center of the search for solutions. To advance equity we must center the experiences of communities that are impacted most and support policies for environmental justice in schools to build a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable future. Mitigate, adapt, advance equity, educate. This is Planet Ed. K-12 Climate Action. The Aspen Institute. Galaxy Song, taken from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. Terry Jones picked this as part of his Top 10 Monty Python Movie Moments for Esquire Magazine -
"It's such a lovely song. I think it's one of the best things Eric [Idle]'s ever done. There was going to be more animation but Terry was so busy with other parts of the film we ended up using more of the live-action parts that I'd shot for safety."
