EdTech Austin is excited to bring together key leaders and organizations in Austin’s computer science scene for a panel discussion on innovations in the field.

Computer science is driving innovation in all aspects of our lives. A look at any major news source reveals the effect of computer science and technology on the global economy. Yet, in the majority of U.S. schools, including those in Austin, access to rigorous and relevant computer science classes (if any!) is rare. Join us to learn about initiatives that are pushing the envelope on how best to prepare K12 students for a life in the digital world. This meetup will also include a live demonstration from AutoAuto, a STEM learning platform that enables students to learn AI and machine learning concepts tied to real-world developments in autonomous vehicle technology.

Moderator: Link Clark - Program Manager at C/I - Code/Interactive

Panelists:

Sabina Bharwani - Founder at Hello World and Managing Director of Innovation & Strategy at Teach For America

Nick Hahn - League Director at Austin Spark League and Design Team Lead at IBM

Matt Stephenson - Executive Director and Co-Founder at Code2College

Ryan Torbey - K-5 Technology Teacher & Austin Cluster Department Head and Lead Organizer, CS4TX
