Biology MineralsIn this video I will discuss 15 important minerals of the human body. A mineral is an inorganic nutrient which means it lacks carbon. Minerals build cells, take part in chemical reactions, send nerve impulses, and carry oxygen. Your body cannot produce any of the minerals that it needs. Instead, you must get minerals from the foods you eat.
Minerals are one of the four groups of essential nutrients, the others of which are vitamins, essential fatty acids, and essential amino acids.
Macrominerals are used in large quantities
Trace minerals are used in very small amounts
