Light Properties:- Absorption - Why we see colors

Objects may reflect or absorb light. A red object will absorb all of the colors except red. A blue object will absorb all of the colors except blue. The characteristic of light of absorption causes you to see certain colors and not see others.
White light contains all of the colors of the visible spectrum which include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
