Welcome our new video: Matching Tens and Ones | 1st Grade | Math | Kids Academy

Tens and ones are a very important lesson for 1st-grade students. Let’s understand the concept in simple words.

Now we know that a double-digit number is made up of ones and tens places. We need to match the tens and ones. The number at the ones place is the number that stands for itself. For example, in 12 the number 2 is at tens place and it stands independently. But 1 is actually 10 since it is the at tens place.

So, with this information, we mind we can easily match tens and ones to numbers. So, the number 12 is made up of 1 ten and 2 ones. Similarly, the number 25 is made up of 2 tens and 5 ones. So, as you make this concept easier for the kid, he will grab the concept faster and will learn better.
