This video is all about helping kids learn about recycling. Recycling is taking used materials and waste and then turning it into new, useful products. Recycling waste into new products reduces the amount of materials that would have been needed if the product had to be made all over again and is very beneficial for the planet!

In addition, we teach kids how to reduce, reuse, and recycle and give them real life applications so each child can start today. After completing this video and finishing the FREE Recycling lesson plan (link below) your student(s) will be able to define recycling, identify common items that are recycled, and list the three steps to successful recycling. We hope you and your children have fun learning about Recycling and keeping our planet clean.

What is camouflage? Why do animals need to use it? Well, in Animal Camouflage, your kids and students will learn the answers to these questions! First off, there are many different kinds of camouflage, and we will discuss four of the main kinds that apply to animals in this video. Did you know that there is actually more than one reason that animals use camouflage?

A lot of animals use camouflage to hide from predators. The colors of their skin or fur helps them blend into the environment around them. Some animals, though, use camouflage to hunt. For the same reason that camouflage helps some animals hide to avoid predators, other animals blend into their surroundings to catch their prey unaware! In addition to hiding and hunting, a few animals use their coloring to communicate. Take the chameleon, for example. Most people think chameleons use color changing to fool predators. But that's not actually true! Chameleons change colors to communicate to other chameleons! They change color to communicate danger, to attract a mate, or simply to signal a change of environment.

These animals are so cool! You and your kids will discover just how many different types of animals take advantage of this amazing characteristic. And maybe you just might stumble upon one of these incredible creatures!

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about all these amazing and colorful animals! If you want to learn more, head over to our website and download our free lesson plan about animal camouflage, which is full of activities, worksheets, and more!

Dinosaurs for Kids is a fun and comprehensive look at dinosaur history. In this video we highlight the various kinds of dinosaurs, talk about how they receive their names, famous dinosaur fossils, and we talk about the people who find dinosaur fossils: Paleontologists.

We think that one of the most fascinating creatures to ever roam the Earth was the dinosaur. You most likely have heard of dinosaurs, seen pictures of them on TV or the Internet, or may have seen their bones in a museum. Dinosaurs are an interesting group of animals that no longer exist, meaning they are extinct. Dinosaurs evolved, meaning they changed, over millions of years.

In this dinosaur for kids video we also talk about how the dinosaurs’ extinction took place about 66 million years ago and 75% of all life on Earth died. There are many theories or guesses as to what may have happened leading to the extinction. They include worldwide volcanic eruptions, changes in the Earth’s climate, or perhaps a meteorite from space smashing into the Earth.

You've probably heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood, right? What we learn from that book is that wolves have large ears and eyes, big snouts, and sharp teeth. It's true! Wolves are actually the apex predators of their environments. They are also the ancestors of our domesticated dogs. They can be as long as six feet from nose to tail and weigh between 50 and 100 pounds.

These carnivores travel in groups called packs. The pack members are often family members, but lone wolves will join a pack if they don't have one of their own. Packs range from as small as 2 wolves to as many as 25. They eat mostly large or medium hoofed animals, but they occasionally consume birds, rodents, or even fish if they can't find any bigger prey. And the alpha male and female eat before the rest of the pack.

Wolves have an excellent sense of smell. In fact, it is 100 times stronger than a human's sense of smell. They can detect other animals up to a mile away! Just as humans use much of their brain capacity to process images, wolves use a considerable part of their brains to process smell.

While they are apex predators and are at the top of their food chain, they do have to deal with humans, their only predators. They are becoming more and more endangered due to pollution, industrial growth, and natural disasters. Luckily, they were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park to breed after not living there due to poisoned water and hunting.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about this exciting apex predator! If you want to learn even more, head over to our website and download one of our many lesson plans about animals, full of activities, worksheets, and more!
