IES 2023 Math Summit - “A Tale of Two Systems: Bridging the Divide between K–12 Math Education and Postsecondary Admissions”
Description: Mathematics plays an outsize role in access to college. Because some selective universities use completion of calculus as a “gold standard” for determining whom to admit—without regard to the connection of calculus to students’ intended majors—college admissions also plays a major role in K–12 math education policies. In this session, Just Equations Executive Director Pamela Burdman examines the disconnect between that role and new developments in math education. The ultimate focus is on policies that maximize meaningful K–12 math learning and prepare students for future success, while also minimizing gatekeeping.

This is an interactive video tutorial wherein learners will be able to Divides 3- to 4-digit numbers by 1-to 2-digit numbers without remainder. Activities and assessments are also provided to measure mastery of the lessons. Correct Answers in each activity are also provided to let learners check their work.
Note: This video used Long Division because it aims to teach elementary students the basics of dividing numbers.
