Cell basics- Lysomes
What are the properties of a lysosome?
Lysosomes are organelles found inside plant and animal cells, but not in bacteria cells.
Updated Version
https://youtu.be/jvfDdZtD5SQ
They are important because lysosomes help break down old cell parts and and digest materials brought into the cell. They might be used to digest food or break down the cell when it dies.
Lysosomes have a single membrane and are filled with digestive enzymes.
A lysosome is created at the Golgi apparatus.
The proteins of the lysosome are created at the rough ER and are packed in a vesicle that is transported to the golgi apparatus. The golgi apparatus uses these proteins to make digestive enzymes and creates a vesicle that pinches off.
This vesicle is a lysosome
Lysosomes are found in the cytoplasm.
When materials are brought into the cell lysosomes can attach to these objects and begin to break them down.
Lysosomes will also break down other organelles like mitochondria if the cell does not have any food or the mitochondria is working improperly.
Lysomes will even digest bacteria that enters the cell.

What is a ribosome?
When you look at pictures of cells, you can see tiny dots on the ER and in the cytoplasm.
These dots are ribosomes, but why are they important to the cell?
Ribosomes are small protein factories found in cells.
They are located in the cytoplasm and on the rough ER.
Ribosomes look like small dots on the ER and in the cytoplasm.
Ribosomes are found in plant, animal, and bacterial cells.
How does a ribosome make a protein?
mRNA that has been created at the nucleus and travels to the ribosome.
tRNA travels to the mRNA and reads it in triplets called codons.
The tRNA has an amino acid on one end.
The tRNA reads the mRNA and strings the amino acids together in the correct order.
Why is protein important?
Protein is used for many functions in the cell.
Proteins are used as building blocks and structure suppor. Your skin, and tendons are made up of protein.
Some proteins help with digestion.
Proteins help with muscle contraction, and carry oxygen around the body.
These tiny organelles play a very important in helping organisms stay alive.

Prophase is the first stage of mitosis.
During prophase, the chromosomes first begin to appear.
Next, the nuclear membrane begins to break down, and the centrioles produce mitotic spindle fibers.

An updated version of graphing inequalities ( no music )
https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=HDq7l7CnN-A
In this video, you will learn how to basics for graphing inequalities on a number line.
Inequalities show that two expressions are not equal.
For example, a number can be greater than, greater than less than, less than, less than, less than or equal to, and not equal to.
When graphing the inequality on a number line you can use an open graph that does not include the number, and closed in which includes the number.

Freshwater ecosystems
There are several different types of freshwater ecosystems.
Freshwater has a low salinity. In this video is cover streams and rivers, along with lakes and ponds.
In addition, I cover wetlands. There are two major types, swamps, and marshes. A marsh is a wetland without trees and a swamp has trees growing in the water.
There is no standard definition about the size of a pond or a lake, however, the water in lakes and ponds have low salinity.
