👉 Learn how to find the slope between two points. The slope of a line is the steepness of the line. The horizontal line has a zero slope while the vertical line has an undefined slope. To determine the slope of a line passing through two points, we need to know the coordinates of 2 points on the line. Then the slope of the line is given by the quotient of the difference between the y-coordinates and the difference between the x-coordinates. i.e. slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1).

We review the steps to solving word problems. We can use the strategy "Act it Out" to solve comparison problems. We can use fraction strips or fraction circles to represent each fraction and compare the models. When the denominators are the same, we can compare fractions by their numerators. When the denominators are different from each other, the sizes of each unit fraction are different. We use the less than, greater than, or equal to symbol to compare fractions in word problems.
