Water & Solutions - for Dirty Laundry: Crash Course Chemistry #7
Water & Solutions - for Dirty Laundry: Crash Course Chemistry #7 Teacherflix 1 Views • 2 years ago

Dihydrogen monoxide (better known as water) is the key to nearly everything. It falls from the sky, makes up 60% of our bodies, and just about every chemical process related to life takes place with it or in it. Without it, none of the chemical reactions that keep us alive would happen - none of the reactions that sustain any life form on earth would happen - and the majority of inorganic chemical reactions that shape the surface of the earth would not happen either. Every one of us uses water for all kinds of chemistry every day - our body chemistry, our food chemistry, and our laundry chemistry all take place in water.

In today's Crash Course Chemistry, we use Hank's actual dirty laundry (ew) to learn about some of the properties of water that make it so special - its polarity and dielectric property; how electrolytes can be used to classify solutions; and we discover how to calculate a solution's molarity as well as how to dilute a solution using the dilution equation.

Uranus & Neptune: Crash Course Astronomy #19
Uranus & Neptune: Crash Course Astronomy #19 Teacherflix 2 Views • 2 years ago

Today we’re rounding out our planetary tour with ice giants Uranus and Neptune. Both have small rocky cores, thick mantles of ammonia, water, and methane, and atmospheres that make them look greenish and blue. Uranus has a truly weird rotation and relatively dull weather, while Neptune has clouds and storms whipped by tremendous winds. Both have rings and moons, with Neptune’s Triton probably being a captured iceball that has active geology.

The Underground Railroad: Crash Course Black American History #15
The Underground Railroad: Crash Course Black American History #15 Teacherflix 4 Views • 2 years ago

Escape was one of the many ways that enslaved people resisted their captivity in the system of American slavery. The Underground Railroad was not literally a railroad. It was a network of people, routes, and safe houses that helped people escape from slavery in the south to freedom in the north. Today we'll talk about the origins of the Underground Railroad, the systems that helped people escape, and the people who helped along the route.

Otters are more than just cute, adorable little fuzzballs, they are one of the greatest conservation success stories of all time. Sea otters are a keystone species, meaning that an entire ecosystem depends on their presence. After they were nearly hunted to extinction for their dense fur, sea urchins (the otters' favorite food) nearly destroyed the Pacific kelp forests, a habitat that hundreds of species rely on for food and shelter.

Thanks to the hard work of conservation scientists at places like the Monterey Bay Aquarium, sea otter populations are on their way back. Here's the story of one orphaned sea otter pup's journey back to the wild

Russian Revolution and Civil War: Crash Course European History #35 Teacherflix 3 Views • 2 years ago

World War I was very hard on the Russian Empire. So hard, in fact, that it led to the end of the Russian Empire. As the global conflict ground on, Tsar Nicholas II faced increasing unrest at home. Today we'll learn about the Revolutions of 1917, the rise of Lenin, Trotsky, and the Bolsheviks, and the Reussian Civil War and the creation of the Soviet Union.

Adding Positive & Negative Integers - Extra Practice #math #homeschoolmath #integers
Adding Positive & Negative Integers - Extra Practice #math #homeschoolmath #integers Teacherflix 5 Views • 7 months ago

If you want extra practice on adding positive and negative integers together, you have come to the right place. When adding both positive and negative integers, you will need to subtract (not add) the absolute value of those integers. Whichever integer has the largest absolute value is the sign the answer will be. Don’t forget to check out the bonus problem and leave me your answer in the comments!

Understanding basic math isn’t just about crunching numbers; it's about fine tuning problem-solving abilities, making informed decisions, and gaining deeper insight into the world around us. From everyday tasks to complex situations, math plays a pivotal role.

Just as important is cultivating critical thinking skills. Learning how to analyze and evaluate information is needed to arrive at well-informed conclusions. Discover why these skills are the cornerstone of innovation, creativity and rational decision-making.

Math isn’t just confined to the classroom but is essential in all aspects of life from personal finance and career success to daily decision-making and creative endeavors.
