A major shock in the AI world. Reports reveal that **Anthropic’s AI model Claude was used in U.S. military intelligence analysis during operations connected to the Iran conflict. At the same time, the United States Department of Defense reportedly flagged the company as a potential supply-chain risk, triggering a new debate about AI in warfare.

This raises huge questions for the tech industry — and for leaders like Sam Altman of OpenAI and Sundar Pichai of Google.

AI is no longer just about chatbots and productivity tools.
It’s becoming a geopolitical technology shaping military power, national security, and the future of global conflict.

As governments race to deploy AI systems, the big question is:
Who controls the most powerful technology humanity has ever built?

What is the difference between a rule and a law? What would life be like if neither rules nor laws existed? In Laws and Rules for Kids, you will discover the answer to these and other questions you have about these concepts. They have similarities, such as the fact that both exist to keep people safe. But they are also different in a few ways. For instance, if you break a law, it may have more serious consequences than breaking a rule does.

A law is created by the government, and the public enforces these laws. A rule relates to behaviors that we should follow in certain situations or places. Breaking a law and breaking a rule both lead to consequences. If you litter, which is breaking the law, you might have to pay a fine. If you throw a ball inside your house even though there is a rule not to, you might break something and get in trouble.

In general, rules are used by smaller groups, like families, schools, teams, and business. Laws are used in much larger groups, like cities, states, and countries. Individuals create rules for different places and situations, such as parents in a family or teachers in a classroom. On the other hand, laws must be voted on by people in government offices or by the citizens.

Again, the consequences or punishments for breaking rules are not as severe as those for breaking laws. If you break rules at school, you might have to skip recess or miss out on certain activities or privileges. If you break a law, you could pay a fine, go to court, do community service, or even serve jail time! Watch the video to see if you can tell the difference between a rule and a law.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about the difference between a rule and a law! If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

Types of Proteins and their function in the human body
Proteins are made up of hundreds or thousands of smaller units called amino acids, which are attached to one another in long chains. Proteins are put together at ribosomes from a blueprint stored in DNA and more specifically from sections of the DNA called genes. There are 20 different types of amino acids that can be combined to make a protein. The order of amino acids determines each protein’s unique shape and its specific function or job.

Let’s take a look at 5 important functions of proteins
Messenger Proteins.

Humanity’s drive to explore our planet is one of the defining characteristics of our species. But exploration only works if you know where you are at any given time. Not so easy when you are out at sea with no visible landmarks and the stars above you are in constant motion. It turns out that the key to solving this puzzle is understanding that in order to know WHERE you are, you have to first know WHEN you are.

During the night, 200 Japanese soldiers decided to surprise the Gurkhas and to break their way to Taungdaw.
The first line of defence they encountered into was a small trench manned by Lachhiman Gurung and two other soldiers.
This trench was positioned on the jungle road that led straight to the camp.
If Gurung’s position was overrun, the entire camp would have been endangered...

How exactly does sound work? If a tree falls in a forest but no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? In this video, you and your kids will be able to answer both those questions. There are sounds all around us. Sound is made from vibrations, which are a series of small, fast movements that move back and forth or from side to side. Even our voices create sound because our vocal cords move from side to side. We can feel it whenever we put our hands on our throats and hum.

When an object vibrates, it causes movement in the surrounding air particles. Those particles bump into other particles, making them vibrate too. This process continue until the particles run out of energy. This movement is called sound waves. Sound waves are what help vibrations travel. Whenever we are close enough to an object's vibrations, the sound waves it creates will reach our ear.

Have you ever heard of pitch and volume? Pitch has to do with the highness or lowness of a sound. Faster vibrations yield a higher pitch while slower vibrations yield a lower pitch. Volume, on the other hand, measures the loudness or quietness of sound. This is also called its intensity or power. The higher a sound's intensity, the higher its volume.

We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about sound! If you want to learn even more, head over to our website and download one of our many lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!
