Pushing and Pulling | What is the difference? | Force and Energy for Kids
We have seen adults confused between push and pull for their whole lives. This happens when the concept from childhood are weak. So, if you don’t want your kid to pulling a door that clearly says PUSH, you must make the difference crystal clear to them.
Before that, we need to learn some other concepts too, which is about force and energy. Whenever an object is moving we say that it is in motion and to put an object in motion some force needs to be applied to it.
Force is the energy that enables the object to move. Now this force can be either push or pull.
The key difference between push and pull is that we when we apply force on an object to move it away from ourselves we say that we are pushing it. However, when we apply force to move the object towards us we say that now we are pulling the object.
The object will stay in its place unless or until an external force is applied to it which forces it to move and change its position.
After explaining the theory, you can use some real-life examples to further clear out the concept by pushing and pulling different things and asking the kid to identify the kind of force.
This concept can save your kid from banging into many doors trying to push it when it says pull. So, keep it crystal clear.

Row Row Row Your Boat - Song for Kids
We have prepared a new song for you today and we know for sure that it is one of your favorites.
The Origins of the song:
It has been suggested that the song may have originally arisen out of American minstrelsy. The earliest printing of the song is from 1852 when the lyrics were published with similar lyrics to those used today, but with a very different tune. It was reprinted again two years later with the same lyrics and another tune. The modern tune was first recorded with the lyrics in 1881, mentioning Eliphalet Oram Lyte in The Franklin Square Song Collection but not making it clear whether he was the composer or adapter.
Lyrics:
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the creek,
If you see a crocodile,
Don't forget to shriek.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the river.
If you see a polar bear
Don't forget to shiver.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down to the shore,
If you see a lion there,
Don't forget to roar.

See the collection of nursery songs with Hickory Dickory Dock, Itsy Bitsy Spider, 5 Little Monkeys and Bingo Song by Kids Academy!
Kids and adults are never tired or bored by these long lasting nursery rhyme songs which serve to benefit your kids’ educational all-rounded development as well as bring entertainment and fun into the classroom. Get the most from learning with our new nursery rhyme playlist for children and start getting joy and pleasure right now!
Begin or finish your lesson with Hickory Dickory Dock and your toddlers will be definitely in the mood to study and learn more. Not only the rhyme is loved by kids thanks to the catchy tune and funny plot but it also gives additional practice on telling the times and revising the names of animals.
Itsy Bitsy Spider is one of the most popular nursery rhyme songs with lyrics and action that preschoolers love to sing and do over and over again. It’s a lovely action and finger play nursery rhyme about a funny little spider and his adventures up and down the waterspout. Kids adore mimicking the actions of the little spider, pouring rain and sunshine.
In search of activities combining maths and reading skills do not overlook the nursery rhyme about 5 Little Monkeys. Start with counting from 1 to 5 and then sing the song mimicking the actions and counting down. Be prepared to repeat it several times, but that’s exactly how toddlers take it in and learn.
Bingo Song is an old traditional nursery rhyme which will be ideal for various purposes: teaching and revising The ABC, introducing spelling, getting more practice on rhythm and intonation, and basic body actions (clapping, jumping, tapping, patting your legs, tummy or head, etc.).

Learn to Play Chess - Practicing Checkmates | Kids Academy
Checkmate is the end condition of chess. As you learn to play chess for beginners you should know that whichever player does checkmate first wins the game. Checkmate means that you have trapped the king of your opponent. A king can save itself from checkmate through CPR, Capture, Protect, Runaway.
It means that the king can capture the piece attacking it. It can also protect itself and counter-attack or it can run away and save itself. If the king can do none of these moves and there is no way left for it to save itself, it means that it is checkmate, the king has been captured and the game is over.
As the king is the main leader of this game, therefore, it is not captured and the game ends before the move in which it would be captured.

Tests and quizzes for kids are two ways for teacher’s and home school parents to evaluate a student’s progress and understanding of a topic, skill, or education standard. Being a good quiz and test taker is a skill that is practiced and learned. For some students, doing an assessment is easy. For others, test taking causes anxiety, is difficult, and scores might not reflect the student’s actual level of understanding and achievement. Despite preparing for a quiz or test, some students still perform poorly. Prepare your students for taking quizzes and tests with fun and engaging test options.
Kids Academy offers fun quizzes for kids in a variety of subjects including English Language Arts, Math, and Science. Kids Academy ELA quizzes for children in the preschool and primary levels offer bright and engaging graphics and interesting questions. Quizzes for Kindergarten and quizzes for 1st grade assess skills such as identifying letters and sounds, complex phonics skills and reading comprehension. Math quizzes for young kids include testing about numbers, counting, graphing, and simple computations, while math quizzes for 2nd grade and quizzes for 3rd grade include more complex computations and operations. Numerous science quizzes for kids covering a range of topics are available too! All quizzes are age appropriate and engaging.
The quizzes are easy to access by subject, skill and grade level. Children complete the quizzes in the Kids Academy platform in different ways. Drag and drop, typing the answers, and clicking on the correct answer choice are ways children complete the quizzes. Children receive immediate answer feedback and positive reinforcement and a reward for a job well done.
Kids Academy offers quizzes for preschool to grade 3 level students. These resources integrate will into existing curriculum and provide students with quiz and test practice and also assessment options in the school or home classroom.

Learn Sides and Shapes | Math for Kids | Geometry | Kids Academy
A shape is defined as the form or the outline of an object. It can also be defined as the boundary of an object and the kind of pattern it follows. It is a basic property of every object just like its other properties like color, texture, size etc.
Different objects follow different patterns of these boundaries. These patterns have been given different names. Shapes for kids is a very important lesson, so we have made this educational video for kids.
For example, a pattern which has four equal sides is referred to as a square. A pattern with round is referred to a circle. Similarly, there are other shapes like a rectangle, triangle, cone etc. Each object is categized based on its shape. These shapes have been made for the understanding of man and to make a sense out of things. Every object in this universe has a shape just like earth is a sphere and a ball is a circle.

Here’s a quick video where we learn to how to use the conditional with -AR verbs in Spanish.
And this is the same formula for many -ER and -IR verbs. Of course there will be some irregulars in a future video.
The conditional is a tense or mood used to say something would happen or someone would do something.

Z-scores are used to relate any normal distribution to the standard normal distribution (mean =0, standard deviation =1). Once you have a z-score, you have to use a z-score table in order to calculate probabilities or areas underneath the standard normal curve.
This video focuses on how to use a z-score table to answer simple questions about z-scores and the percent of the distribution contained below, above, or between given z-scores.
Normal distribution images made using Geogebra.

Lyrics:
When you get that funny feeling
Way down low
Just stop what you’re doing
And go go go!
What are you doing? Where did you go?
What are you doing? I want to know!
I went to the potty, and washed my hands too
I went to the potty like the big kids do!
How do I do that? How do I go?
How do I do that? I want to know!
Just sit on the potty, sit and wait
Sit on the potty and it will be great!
I’m sitting on the potty, ready to go
But nothing is happening, and why, I don’t know
Try again later, it’s okay,
Try again later, later today
I’ve got the funny feeling, way down low
I’ve got the funny feeling, I think I have to go!
Just sit on the potty, sit and wait
Sit on the potty and it will be great!
I went to the potty! Look and see!
I went to the potty, hooray for me!
Great job, J.J., now wash your hands!
Great job, J.J., now do the potty dance!
Great job, J.J., do the potty dance
I/we got you some big boy underpants
When you get that funny feeling way down low,
Stop what you’re doing and go, go, go!

Sean Reardon, a professor of education and sociology at Stanford University, discusses his recent study for which he and his colleagues built a data-bank archive of every test score from every elementary and middle school student in the United States over the last five years. Reardon explains that at the core of the study, which includes 215 million student test scores, is the question: Can we fix educational equity by building better school systems alone?
