Here we’ll look at how to work out the faces, edges and vertices of a square pyramid.
We’ll start by counting the faces, these are the flat surfaces that make the pyramid. A square pyramid has 5 faces altogether - 4 triangular faces, as well as 1 rectangular face.
Next we’ll work out how many edges the pyramid has, which are where two faces meet. A square pyramid has 8 edges.
Next we’ll count the corners of the pyramid (the corners). A square pyramid has 5 vertices.

The trick - know the side names - the opposite, hypotenuse, and adjacent, and know how and when to apply the trigonomic functions - sin, cos and tan. Express a fraction with denominator 10 as an equivalent fraction with denominator 100, and use this technique to add two fractions with respective denominators 10 and 100.2 For example, express 3/10 as 30/100, and add 3/10 + 4/100 = 34/100.
