When we think of the western expansion of the United States in the 19th century, we're conditioned to imagine the loner. The self-reliant, unattached cowpoke roaming the prairie in search of wandering calves, or the half-addled prospector who has broken from reality thanks to the solitude of his single-minded quest for gold dust. While there may be a grain of truth to these classic Hollywood stereotypes, it isn't a very big grain of truth. Many of the pioneers who settled the west were family groups. Many were immigrants. Many were major corporations. The big losers in the westward migration were Native Americans, who were killed or moved onto reservations. Not cool, American pioneers.

This statistics video tutorial explains how to find the z-score that will be used to find the confidence interval and margin of error for a population mean. This video contains 2 example problems in which you're asked to find a 90% and 95% confidence interval given the population standard deviation, sample mean, and sample size. By the way, the margin of error is also known as the error bound. This video also explains the difference between the confidence interval and the confidence level. This physics video tutorial explains the concept of acceleration and velocity used in one-dimensional motion situations. Acceleration tells you how fast the velocity is changing every second while velocity tells how fast the position is changing per second. This video provides all of the equations and formulas needed to understand the examples presented and to solve the practice problems listed in this video. This tutorial also briefly discusses the difference between average acceleration and instantaneous acceleration. It contains constant acceleration problems that asks you to solve for the final speed of a car or a bus given the initial speed. The village was built within sighting range of the Korean Demilitarized Zone when the Korean Peninsula divided into two in 1953.
This Potemkin fake village was built by the North Korean founder, first eternal leader, Kim Il-sung who ruled the nation until his death in 1994.

Rearguard is a type of unit formed during operations of tactical withdrawal. In essence, rearguard units are standard military units, most often infantry, but with a specific task.
Rearguard units were formed when a military formation was forced to evacuate its troops or to withdraw from the battlefield, very often under strong pressure made by enemy forces. In these cases the withdrawing main body of the formation would not be capable of fighting back. Quite opposite, it was very vulnerable to enemy attacks and in great danger of being destroyed.

After almost two decades of fighting and millions of lives lost, the Vietnam war came to an end in 1975. Hardly anyone believed that after 19 years of bitter fighting, the conflict would be resolved in just two months. In March 1975, the strength and superiority of the South Vietnamese forces gave the impression that the conflict was still far from over. Yet, on the last day of April the North Vietnamese flag was waving in Saigon.

Work out the area of a circle by using pi (3.1415) and the radius (half the width or diameter of the circle) - so that Area - Pi x radius x radius.
We then work out perimeter of circles using pi and radius - so that circumference = 2 x Pi x radius.
Finaly we look at the volume of cylinders - which is the area of the circle x the height (or Pi x Radius x Radius x height).
