Artist Henri Rousseau painted The Dream in 1910, and it's imagery of a woman lounging on a sofa in the middle of a jungle was as surreal then as it is today. What is it about this artwork that captivated audiences then and now? #art #henrirousseau #thedream

If the human body could be distilled down into one molecule, what would our chemical formula be? And WHY is it that way? Is that one scene from Full Metal Alchemist even a little bit true?
There's a whole lot of elements on the periodic table, but life depends on relatively few of them in order to build all the things that keep us alive. This week, we'll look at why the chemistry of life is the way it is…

Why is seawater salty?
Hello Happy Friends!
Are you ready to learn?
I’m Sarah, and today, I want to solve a question I’m always asking myself… and I’m sure that you’ve asked yourselves about it too!
Have you ever wondered, why seawater is salty?
Oceans and seas, were formed thousands of years ago
because of rainwater
But…
Why is seawater salty, if rainwater and volcano vapour don’t taste to anything?
They are, insipid!
That’s because rivers, reach the sea,
and these rivers contain mixed mineral salts dissolved in their waters.
As you already know, though the water cycle, water from the sea is evaporated because of the sun’s heat.
But not all the mineral salts that come from rivers are evaporated,
so they are accumulated in large amounts within the sea’s waters.
This is the reason why marine water, sea water has such an intense taste.
Seawater isn’t pure water, it’s a mix.
It’s a dissolution of water and mineral salts.
So that means it’s not safe to drink, it’s not drinking water.
The sea, is crucial for our planet.
That’s why we need to take care of it. It’s home to many amazing animals, like these!
And it lets us do really cool things like…
play with our friends sonreír surf
or enjoy a sailboat ride at sunset.
Goodbye happy friends!
I hope you’re always ready to learn!
Goodbye!

Suffixes ful, less, ly, able | English Grammar for Children | Grade 2 | Kids Academy
The English language is very interesting, if you look at the words closely you will see some repetitive combination of alphabets ending the words. These letters that end a word are called ‘suffixes. These suffixes change the meaning of words and can create new words. In this video we talk about 4 suffixes:
-ful
-less
-ly
-able
-ful
When we add suffix -ful to a word it changes its meaning to ‘full of’. For example:
• Colorful
• Grateful
-less
When we add -less to a word it means ‘without’, which means that something is without the word that’s in the start of this word. For example:
• Homeless
• Helpless
-ly
The suffix -ly can be used to answer two questions, how often and how. For example:
1. How did she act? Answer: Badly
2. How often does she dance? Answer: Weekly
-able
-able simply means ‘can’. That something can be done. For example:
• Respectable
• Comfortable
So now you know the suffixes. Find words in a storybook ending with these suffixes, just as a practice exercise. These are very important to learn about good English grammar for children.

Song Lyrics:
Look at all the colors I can see!
I see big red apples in the tree.
I can see my yellow cat,
I can see my big blue hat.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
Look at all the colors I can see!
I can see green leaves up in the tree.
I can see my big orange ball,
Purple flowers by the wall.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
Look at all the colors I can see!
I can see the brown trunk of the tree.
I see white clouds in the sky,
And a blackbird flying by.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
(Spoken)
Red and yellow make orange.
Yellow and blue make green.
Blue and red make purple.
Red and white make pink.
White and black make gray.
All the colors make brown!
Look at all the colors I can see!
Now I see gray rain clouds by the tree.
If we get a few rain showers,
Then I'll see big bright pink flowers.
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!
I see colors of the rainbow
in the world that's all around me,
Oh, look at all the colors I can see!

Trigonometry on Khan Academy: Big, fancy word, right? Don't be fooled. Looking at the prefix, tri-, you could probably assume that trigonometry ("trig" as it's sometimes called) has something to do with triangles. You would be right! Trig is the study of the properties of triangles. Why is it important? It's used in measuring precise distances, particularly in industries like satellite systems and sciences like astronomy. It's not only space, however. Trig is present in architecture and music, too. Now you may wonder...how is knowing the measurement and properties of triangles relevant to music?? THAT is a great question. Maybe you'll learn the answer from us in these tutorials!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Los modismos o frases hechas son expresiones de las que no se puede deducir su verdadero significado de las palabras que las componen.
Aunque generalmente se desconoce su origen específico, han sido transmitidas a lo largo del tiempo de manera oral por lo que se entiende que tienen un origen popular.
Modismos que veremos en este vídeo:
Echar un ojo
