Math for 1st Grade - Lessons for Kids | Kids Learning | Kids Academy
One of the most difficult subjects for kids in mathematics. Unlike English and other subjects, mathematics requires a little more conceptual development and practice rather than reading and learning. This is the main reason why mathematics is a little difficult for young ones. However, there are certain things that can help in developing concepts and making mathematics easier.
Things like addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication can be learned by involving kids in different fun activities, quizzes, and other interesting things. For example, in order to learn addition and subtraction, you can use some toys and add and subtract them. This develops a child’s interest and makes mathematics easy.
Apart from this, fun activities, dodging question worksheets, fun plays and activities can also help a child in developing concepts easily. In grade one, the child is mostly taught the basic concepts like calculating time, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Always keep in mind that teach your child by trying different activities. This way he’ll learn better and faster.

CLICK HERE: http://readingteacherchad.blogspot.com/ And Learn How To Teach A Child To Read In Two Weeks!
Most children develop the skill of reading by the age of 7. Others however, may be more efficient and start reading easier passages at the age of around 5 or even younger.
This doesn’t imply though that your child is going to keep the head start that he had at the initial ages once he starts to go to the school. By third grade or so, other children would have caught up and this is exactly why it’s important to work on the reading capability of your child in order to keep him up to the mark.
As a parent or a teacher, there are a number of techniques which can be put to use in order to make a child learn to read. Among such techniques, the synthetic phonics and phonemic awareness skills development technique is considered to be the most effective and efficient.
It is of prime importance to understand that before your child is going to be able to read, he has to learn how the sounds in different words work. It is imperative for them to learn that each word is made out of certain sounds which are commonly known as the phonemes. Recognizing these phonemes and separating them from one another is the very fundamental skill that is to be developed in your child in order to make him learn to read.
There is no argument over the fact that phonemic awareness is a widely used term when it comes to learning to read. However, as a teacher or a parent who is looking forward to teach his child to read, it is indispensable for you to be able to understand that phonics and phonemic awareness does not mean the same.
In order to give you a better idea, it is to be mentioned here that phonemic awareness is a term that is used when the fact that certain sounds in spoken language are supposed to work together in order to make the words is being taken into consideration. However, the term phonics only implies that the relationship between a particular sound and the letter which depicts that sound in a written passage is predictable.
It may be of value for you to know that synthetic phonics and phonemic awareness skills development techniques are considered to be the most effective when it comes to question how to teach a child to read. An appropriate utilization of the aforementioned technique is bound to bring the best and the most efficient results for you.

1) It's FUN: attitude is half the battle and when it is fun for the teacher and kids, everybody wins.
2) The second reason is that kids have many learning approaches and Number Wheels appeal in many ways: visual, movement, and fun kinesthetic learning with manipulative like math frisbees and geoboards.
3) Number Wheels help kids learn groups of fact families, rather than individual facts. Kids see the big picture of how numbers interact.
4) Number Wheels create a structure for kids to understand and see many patterns in numbers.
5) The visual learning shows that a pair of numbers equal a sum, and it doesn't matter which number comes first.
6) Important pairs that add up to ten are prominent and horizontal, and adding and subtracting fives is fun and effective learning.
7) Subtraction is not separate but part of the big picture of number wheels.
8) Number Wheels lead easily into multiplication, fractions, squares and more.
9) Groups of kids can learn math together and from each other.
If the pictures look complicated, get the ebook or webinar below because Number Wheels are fun and effective ways to start a kid into math that sets them up for life.

Here’s a quick video to help with the preterite of some -IR stem-changing verbs that change from (e-ie) and (e-i) in the present tense. The Preterite is a verb tense in Spanish used to talk about actions that happened in the past and have already ended. And stem-changing verbs have an additional change in their stem (or part before the -ar, -er, -ir).

The Phosphorus Cycle is essential for life on Earth. It is considered a biogeochemical cycle.
In the video, I cover the phosphorus cycle steps.
Phosphorus is not found in the atmosphere but is found in rocks and is released by weathering.
Plants and animals absorb the phosphorus that is washed into the soil.
Eventually, the phosphorus is washed into sediment that is compressed into rock.

What are you waiting for? Eclipses
Hello friends. In this educational video for kids we are going to learn about eclipses. There are two types of eclipses, a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse, but first of all, do you know what an eclipse is?
An eclipse occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily obscured. Sometimes the Earth is placed between the sun and the moon and other times the moon is situated between the Earth and the sun. These are eclipses… but let’s investigate it better.
The lunar eclipse is when the Earth is situated between the moon and the sun making the Earth block out the sun’s rays which would be shining on the moon, creating a shadow and darkening it. This phenomenon allows us to see the moon in a reddish color…almost as if it were bleeding.
Lunar eclipses are quite frequent and can be seen from any part of the world at night time. They last various hours and can be different types, though the most frequent ones are the partial lunar eclipse and the total lunar eclipse.
When there is an eclipse and it looks as if someone has taken a bite out of the moon, it is a partial eclipse, and when there is an eclipse and one can see the whole moon, it is a total eclipse. Easy don’t you think?
By the way, to observe a lunar eclipse one doesn’t need anything special, a normal telescope or binoculars would do.
Solar eclipses only occur when there is a new moon, and is seen when the moon is in between the Earth and the sun. The moon hides all the suns light or at least part of it.
Solar eclipses can be of different types: total, partial or annular.
A total solar eclipse is when the moon hides all of the suns light and the sun’s face disappears behind the moon. In the middle of the day, it would seem as if night has fallen. The sky darkens and stars appear. Many animals, think it’s night time and go to sleep, and nocturnal animals such as this owl, begin their day, actually their night, not understanding that in a short time the sun will reappear.
Partial solar eclipses occur when the moon comes between the Earth and the sun, but not completely, leaving part of the sun visible. The day becomes slightly darker and the sun resembles a cookie with a chunk missing.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the moon hides only the middle part of the sun. It is seen as a black circle surrounding a bright ring. It looks like a ring, doesn’t it?
By the way and this is really important, it is very dangerous to observe solar eclipses without special eye protection. Please remember this as it is extremely harmful.
Well now we know a little bit more about eclipses…don’t you think it is fascinating learning new things?
Goodbye friends, we hope you enjoyed this educational video for children about eclipses. Don’t forget to subscribe to Happy Learning TV, so you don’t miss any of our videos.
The sun has been producing light for about five billion years but where does all its energy come from? The most common idea is that the sun is burning gas - like a giant fireball in the sky. If this were true, the sun would have gone out long ago. So how is the sun actually fuelling itself? It is converting its own mass into energy. By combining protons (the nucleus of hydrogen) into helium, it squeezes some mass into energy - 4.3 billion kg per second. It is Einstein's famous E=mc^2 which gives us the quantitative relationship between mass and energy, where c is the speed of light.

This phonics lesson from Kids Academy will teach your child all about the letter H. The letter H and its sound makes up many basic words. By adding this phoneme students can begin spelling words like HAT, HOT, and HUM. This video will cover both the capital and lowercase H’s as well as use H as an example in many words.
H is the eighth letter in the English alphabet and the letter name is pronounced aitch. The H can make up many sounds and be combined to make a number of digraphs. The first H sound students will learn is the huh sound made by opening the mouth and expelling air from the throat. The path of the air is uninterrupted and therefore sounds like an exhale. The H can be combined with all the vowels to make a plethora of new words for young children. As their understanding increases the H will be combined with other letters to make digraphs. For example, combining the C and H can make the /ch/ sound in words like chair and chin. T and H make the /th/ sound in words like thin and cloth. It also combines with S to make /sh/ sounds from words like wash and show.
H can be a tricky letter for young readers especially when it is mixed in with letters like P, G and W. When combined with these letters the H can make completely new sounds and even be completely silent. It is best to hold off on these words until readers are confident in their basic H and digraph H sounds.
This video will use the letter H to explore the homes of many different types of people and animals.

In and out, in and out. Staying alive is about doing things. This very second, your cells are combusting glucose molecules with oxygen to make energy available, which keeps you alive for another precious moment. To get the oxygen to your cells you are breathing.
Breathing is an answer to a very hard problem: How do you get the resources that your cells need to survive, from the outside, to the inside of your cells? Every living thing has to solve this problem and the solution is surprisingly different depending on one of the most important regulators of life: Size.
