The Digestive System for Kids | A fun engaging overview of what happens when we eat will teach you everything you need to know about your body's digestive system. Lots happens when you eat so come with us as we learn all about it!

You may have recently eaten breakfast or lunch, and had a productive morning in class, or enjoyed recess. Now, you’re either at home reading this or in the classroom.

But the inside of your body is hard at work taking all the food you have eaten and turning it into nutrients and energy. It is the digestive system of your body responsible for breaking down the food you eat. The process of food being broken down is called digestion. Digestion allows the body to receive the nutrients and the energy from the food you eat. During digestion, all of the food you eat is eventually turned into the building blocks and fuel you need to live life each day.

Germs are everywhere. They are often responsible for making people sick. They're so small, you can only see them with a microscope. In Germs for Kids, you and will learn all about the four types of germs that exist in the word: bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. Let's see what you already know and what you will learn throughout the video!

The first type is bacteria. Bacteria are single-celled organisms that live inside and outside of you body. They can cause ear infections, sore throats, cavities, and more. Not all bacteria are bad, though. In fact, there is lots of good bacteria in some of the food we eat, and our bodies need good germs to help use up the nutrients we ingest. Doctors even use good bacteria to create medicines and vaccines.

Viruses, on the other hand, are all bad. Some examples include chicken pox, the flu, and the measles. Viruses like to invade healthy cells and multiply as the host cell multiplies. Because our bodies have so many cells, there are lots of places for viruses to invade. When we get sick from a virus, we can get what's called a vaccine or immunization to help fight it.

The next type of germ is fungi. A fungus is like a plant and actually consists of many cells rather than just one. Fungi like to live in warm and wet places, such as between a person’s toes. Many fungi don’t cause problems for healthy people. Examples include athlete’s foot, skin infections, and other rashes. Some fungal infections are contagious and can pass from one person to another.

The last type of germ is a protozoa. Like fungi, protozoa live in wet places. And like bacteria and viruses, they also have only one cell. Many live in the water, which is how they spread diseases and infections. Water that is not safe to drink may contain protozoa. These germs can lead to stomach aches, diarrhea, and nausea. The video explains lots of ways to help stop the spread of germs. Keep watching to find out!

En este nuevo video para aprender español, exploraremos una historia emocionante que te ayudará a aprender español mientras sigues la travesía de un hombre que descubre que su portátil ha sido robado en el tren.

A lo largo del diálogo entre el hombre, la ladrona y un oficial de policía, aprenderás vocabulario clave y estructuras gramaticales importantes para situaciones cotidianas en español.



Frases clave y estructuras gramaticales:

"¡Oh no, ¿dónde está mi portátil?!": Uso del pronombre interrogativo "dónde" para preguntar por la ubicación.

"¿Alguien ha visto quién ha cogido mi portátil?": Uso del pretérito perfecto compuesto para expresar una acción reciente.

"Necesito su ayuda": Uso del verbo necesitar en primera persona del singular con el pronombre posesivo "su" para expresar una solicitud de ayuda.

"¡Te tengo!": Uso del pronombre personal "te" con el verbo "tener" para indicar posesión.
"Vamos": Uso del imperativo para expresar una invitación o sugerencia.

"Puedo oírlo sonar por esa zona": Uso del verbo modal "poder" seguido de un infinitivo para expresar habilidad o capacidad.

"Me temo que es demasiado tarde para disculpas": Uso del verbo temer seguido de un infinitivo para expresar una suposición o conclusión.

"Estás bajo arresto por robo": Uso del presente indicativo para expresar una acción actual.

"Va contra el protocolo pero haré una excepción esta vez" significa que la acción que se está considerando realizar no sigue las normas o procedimientos habituales establecidos por una organización o autoridad. En este caso, el oficial de policía reconoce que acompañar al hombre a recuperar su portátil no es lo que generalmente se haría según las reglas o pautas de la policía, pero está dispuesto a hacer una excepción esta vez. Esto implica que el oficial está dispuesto a hacer algo fuera de lo común debido a circunstancias particulares o por consideración especial hacia la situación del hombre.

En este video exploramos diversas actividades cotidianas relacionadas con el hogar, desde tareas de limpieza hasta reparaciones básicas. A través de varias escenas, los personajes interactúan utilizando un vocabulario útil y frases comunes en español. Este guión es ideal para estudiantes de español que quieren aprender términos y expresiones prácticas relacionadas con el mantenimiento del hogar.
