What does M.A.D. mean? M.A.D. refers to the full-scale use of nuclear weapons by two opposing sides, resulting in one clear, obvious outcome – mutually assured destruction. The policy of M.A.D. rests on the idea that if two countries or continents are equally as capable of destroying one another through nuclear attack, then there is no incentive for either side to pull the trigger, or remove it. Instead, nuclear-capable countries keep each other in check with the knowledge of the MAD doctrine, and that any sort of “first move” would result in global nuclear devastation.

You probably studied the "regular" periodic table in school—but did you know there are more versions of the periodic table than just the one you know? The periodic table of elements has gone through many iterations since it was first used to organize elements over 150 years ago! Join Michael Aranda in this new episode of SciShow and learn all about them!

From a perfectly preserved female skull in Antarctica to ancient viruses waking up after thousands of years — the ice is giving up its secrets, and they’re changing everything we thought we knew about history and science. Melting glaciers and frozen tundras are revealing human artifacts, extinct animals, and even ships that disappeared without a trace. Each discovery feels like time travel — a frozen moment suddenly alive again. But some of these finds also raise serious questions about what else might thaw next. Get ready for the wildest, coldest revelations that science has ever had to deal with.

Hello Happy friends!
Are you ready to learn?

I’m Sarah, and today, we’re going to talk about something that makes me so sad… Today, we’re going to talk about ocean contamination.

This morning, I woke up very sad, because I had a terrible nightmare.
I dreamt that all of the oceans and all rivers in the world were contaminated, and all of the living things that were there, disappeared!

When I woke up, I felt so relieved. But I have to say, if we don’t stop contaminating the waters, this sad dream will eventually come true.

We all know that water is essential for life, and that all animals, plants, and human beings depend on it to survive.

But we are still contaminating it, and there are many people that throw away plastic bags, bottles, and cans, as if the sea was a huge dustbin!

Another one of waters greatest enemies, is oil. You can’t even imagine the amount of damage it’s caused in oceans, and all the animals living within them.

The sinking of Boats and containers full of oil, have made really big catastrophes, contaminating lots of oceans and killing lots of animals, like mammals, birds and fish.

But I don’t want to make you sad!
What I want is that we all contribute to a solution!

When we go to the beach, we can’t throw any type of waste into the sea, and we can’t leave it in the sand either!
Also, we can’t put oil or paints down the drain, or any other liquid that contaminates.

And! we can encourage all our family and friends to make a change too! We need to make them start thinking about the importance of getting rid of ocean contamination!

You already know, that taking care of water is taking care of life.
Its helping whales, dolphins, turtles, and all the magnificent creatures that live in our oceans.

If we respect and take care of rivers and oceans, woodlands and everything that surrounds us, we will make my sad dream, never ever come true. And we will make our world and all living things within it a lot happier!

Goodbye happy friends! See you next time!

I hope you’re always ready to learn!

Goodbye!

Multiply by 4 and learn the 4 times table with a tropical beat. Sing along to the 4's times tables by singing along with the multiplication fact the first time through. The second time through we delay the answer so students can give the answer and then the answer is reinforced. The third time we supply the 4's times table and leave the answer blank for higher order learning.
Multiply by 4's with this catchy tropical tune to help student's learn their 4 multiplication table in order.
This song goes through each table 1 through 12 three times to give your children a chance for lots of practice.
This song also has a gradual learning structure.

First time: I sing the multiplication table I give the answer.

Second time: I say the table I delay the answer, so children have a chance to answer before me.

Third time: I completely omit the answer so children can answer on their own.

This song on learning how to Multiply by 4 is a wonderful way for your children to learn and practice the multiplication tables.

LYRICS:

Multiply by 4's

Four quarters in a football game
Four sides to a square are the same
Four wheels to a race car turn
And the 4 times table I can learn

Let's multiply by 4

4 x 1 is 4
4 x 2 is 8
4 x 3 is 12
4 x 4 is 16
4 x 5 is 20
4 x 6 is 24
4 x 7 is 28
4 x 8 is 32
4 x 9 is 36
4 x 10 is 40
4 x 11 is 44
4 x 12 is 48

Four quarters in a football game
Four sides to a square are the same
Four wheels to a race car turn
And the 4 times table I can learn

Now say the answer before me

4 x 1 is 4
4 x 2 is 8
4 x 3 is 12
4 x 4 is 16
4 x 5 is 20
4 x 6 is 24
4 x 7 is 28
4 x 8 is 32
4 x 9 is 36
4 x 10 is 40
4 x 11 is 44
4 x 12 is 48

Now, all on your own

4 x 1 is 4
4 x 2 is 8
4 x 3 is 12
4 x 4 is 16
4 x 5 is 20
4 x 6 is 24
4 x 7 is 28
4 x 8 is 32
4 x 9 is 36
4 x 10 is 40
4 x 11 is 44
4 x 12 is 48

Four quarters in a football game
Four sides to a square are the same
Four wheels to a race car turn
And the 4 times table I can learn
