AI isn't going anywhere in 2026. Here are some genuinely practical ways to use it as a teacher, no specific tool required.

Generate questions — grab a YouTube link, feed it to your AI of choice, get multiple-choice questions for a lesson starter in minutes instead of hours. I've built an entire bank of these using TED-Ed videos alone.

Generate short texts — synopses, intros, blurbs for your slides. The more specific your prompt, the better the result.

Generate worksheets — short answer, multiple choice, scenario-based, all created in moments rather than an entire prep period.

Generate feedback and comment banks — sentence starters, scaffolds, and even differentiated versions of a text for different ability levels.

One non-negotiable: always check what AI gives you. Don't take the first output as gospel. Mistakes happen, and it's on us to catch them before they reach students.

Feeling overwhelmed by all the AI tools out there? Fair enough. Find the one that works for you and stick with it. Less admin means more time for the parts of teaching that actually matter.
