Get started with Canva for Education and explore practical ways to use Canva in your classroom, in partnership with Johannesburg South District.

In this interactive teacher training session, Lerato Shuping introduces educators to Canva for the Classroom and demonstrates how teachers can create engaging learning resources, manage classes, assign activities and give learners new ways to create and demonstrate their learning.

The session covers:
• Getting started with Canva for Education
• Understanding the Canva Education dashboard
• Creating and managing classes
• Adding learners and sharing classroom resources
• Assigning, reviewing and providing feedback on learner work
• Finding education templates for different grades and subjects
• Creating presentations, worksheets and learning activities
• Customising text, graphics, images, video and other elements
• Using Canva AI, Magic Write and content generation
• Creating lesson ideas and activities aligned to CAPS
• Translating content into different languages
• Using Canva alongside Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom
• Accessing the full Canva for Education experience through the South African rollout

The session is designed for teachers who are new to Canva as well as educators who already use Canva and want to explore its education features.

This forms part of the Canva for the Classroom training series, moving educators from “I’ve heard of Canva” to seeing what is possible and building the confidence to use it in everyday teaching and learning.
