History Grid - OpenSim MUVE for K12

Preview of OpenSim Virtual World project. World is based on Port Napean Quarantine Station, near Melbourne Australia. Students in K12 undertake game-like quests inside a 'serious game'. The project was funded though FUSE and Education Victoria, State Library Victoria, Parks and Wildlife, History Teachers Association Victoria. The games is over some 16 islands. Teachers use resources to develop their own game quests based on 'immigration'. It not Second Life, and has game 'mechanics' in the world to make it a 'transmedia' project - in that learning takes place in the classroom, the virtual world and using web based resources and tools. This is very 'fast' and limited video shown at a conference.
