In this video I will show you how to solve a rational equation for x. This example involves two rational expressions that are being subtracted and set equal to zero.

When solving rational equations, you need to multiply by some factor to cancel out the denominator. Doing this will simplify your rational equation greatly, and allow you to use basic algebraic strategies such as FOIL and the distributive property to solve for x.
