Make It, then Break It. | Carolina Borja and Amy Toscani | The Art Assignment
Pre-order our book YOU ARE AN ARTIST (which includes new assignments!) here: http://bit.ly/2kplj2h
We went to ArtPrize and met up with Minneapolis based artists Carolina Borja and Amy Toscani. Their exhibit this year invited the audience to destroy the large-scale handmade piñatas that they had spent hours constructing. And now it’s your turn to make and break.
INSTRUCTIONS - MAKE IT BREAK IT
1. Create something
2. Have someone else destroy it
3. Share with us an image of the destroyed object and/or your documentation of the process of destruction
4. Upload with #theartassignment
5. Fame and glory (Your work might be in a future episode)
We then discuss how our works of art can be changed or developed overtime and give example ot other artists that do so - like Robert Rauschenberg, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Dieter Roth.
