In this episode, we address the fear-inducing studies and headlines that often interrupt meaningful conversations about the value of AI in education. When these narratives take over, they can unintentionally strip away equitable options for both teachers and learners. We push back against fear-based reactions and refocus the conversation on ownership—what appropriate AI use actually looks like and what can and should be done in classrooms.

We also emphasize the importance of bringing student voices into the process. Instead of shielding students from the research, we encourage educators to let students investigate the studies themselves, analyze claims, and draw their own conclusions. Students then share their thinking and engage in dialogue with peers about why they landed where they did. We highlight Kapor as a valuable tool that can support this work by helping structure ethical reflection, discussion, and critical analysis. This episode centers on agency, equity, and shared responsibility—treating AI not as something to fear, but as something to understand, question, and use thoughtfully together.
