Many young Black people in Montgomery County don't receive meaningful education in financial literacy. To help close that gap and help young people understand some of the basic concepts behind money and finance, Young Black and Engaged brought in Ben Adjoyi as an expert to enlighten them on fundamental financial concepts and answer their questions.

Ben Adjoyi is a graduate of James H. Blake High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, which is part of Montgomery County Public Schools. He recently graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Systems & Processes and he currently works as a business analyst.

Notably, he founded a student group while at Towson called Money & Minorities, which focused precisely on teaching his fellow college students financial literacy and empowering them to take charge of their relationship with money.

Young, Black and Engaged is a content series from BCEE Media where we convene young, Black people from Montgomery County, Maryland to engage and learn about civics, society and life.
