Civil Rights Act of 1964 | Montgomery Bus Boycott | Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King
American civil rights movement took place mainly during the 1950s and 1960s. It emerged as a response to the existing discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin.
One example of racial discrimination would be the segregation of public facilities such as schools, restaurants, buses, and restrooms.
The purpose of the civil rights movement was to enforce constitutional and legal rights for all, especially for black people residing in the United States.
Civil rights activists tried to promote equality and social justice through nonviolent protests. In 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. Her arrest provoked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which united supporters across the country and led to the desegregation of public buses.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the organizers of the boycott. Promoting equality and human rights through peaceful protests and public speeches, he became one of the most prominent leaders of the civil rights movement.
The joint efforts of civil rights activists across the country influenced American lawmakers. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 ended segregation laws in America.

Hello, this is Kids Academy and we have a new Christmas carol for children's Sleigh Ride Song.
Below are the lyrics for kids, so let's sing Christmas songs for kids together.
Lyrics:
We go outside when the snow falls, in a wintery fairyland.
As we settle in the back seat, I reach out and take your hand.
We are gliding through the forest, in a sleigh – just you and me.
On the left side there’s a snowman, on the right side, Christmas trees.
To the left, to the right, with a nice and gentle slide.
We are snuggled up together nice and warm I hold you tight.
We are gliding through the forest, in a sleigh – just you and me.
On the left side there’s a snowman, on the right side, Christmas trees.
The bells are jingling our love song. Children are playing in the snow.
When you’re with me it keeps my heart warm.
We’re happy together in the winter wonderland.
It goes uphill, and then downhill in this charming Christmas sleigh.
As the starlight and the moonlight brightly shine to show the way.
We are gliding through the forest, in a sleigh – just you and me.
On the left side there’s a snowman, on the right side, Christmas trees.
We are gliding through the forest, in a sleigh – just you and me.
And as long as you are with me, there’s no end for me to see.

Learn colors for Kids | Red Color | Kids Academy
If your kid is at that stage when he is supposed to learn about colors and their names then know that you as a parent or a teacher need to use as many visuals as you can. In fact, it’s an undeniable fact that colors can only be taught through visuals. For starters, you can use a textbook or color pencils to make your little one understand what colors are and how many are there.
Now, of course, the wiser thing to do is to start with the basic colors and focus on them until your kid has it all memorized. You need to teach your child about colors like green, red, yellow, blue. Just let him understand the concept of these basic colors first and then move towards the other ones because when it comes to colors, we all know they are uncountable.
Speaking of teaching colors, let’s suppose you are currently focusing on “red”. Now, in this case, you should be opting for Youtube videos and animations, etc that can teach your child about the color red.
Use different examples, make him watch different videos about the color red and then move towards the point where you test him. Use DIY color books, makeup and sing some songs and rhymes and opt for hand painting to make this learning process fun for your kid.
With a little practice and some hand painting, your kid will surely learn about the color red within no time and once he reaches that stage, you then can move to other colors like blue and green, etc. Moreover, you can even tell about the color red to your child by pointing out his/her favorite dress.

How to Learn Basic English Grammar Kids Academy
Want your child to learn Basic English grammar easily? If yes, then you have landed on the right place. Learning grammar can be a little hard for a few kids which is why developing different methods to make the learning process easier becomes necessary. Starting with the nouns first.
Nouns are words that describe a place, name or a thing. To make the learning of terms easier, it is best to make colorful sheets, use props and involve kids in other activities.
The main task is to help children understand the difference between noun, verb, an adjective.
A verb is an action, and an adjective is a word that describes a noun. A FERB worksheet can help kids do this easily. It is a worksheet which consists of sentences. For example; Monkeys eat bananas.
Here, since the monkey is an animal, therefore, it is termed as a noun while eating is an action which means it is a verb. Apart from this, English grammar lessons, quizzes, and other fun activities can also help in learning Basic English.

Doctor Checkup for Kids - Types of Doctors - Social Studies | Kids Academy
It's Kids Academy, and welcome back to our channel! Learning about doctors for kids is not only an educational social studies activity, but it is also a way that parents can teach children about who a doctor is and what a doctor does. Instruction and preparation go a long way in calming any fears that young children may have about going to get a child check-up.
Children are less afraid of a medical situation if they learn about what happens at a doctor’s visit and the importance of doctors.
The video begins with a colorful introduction that shows the hospital scene.
The viewer hears the voiceover say, “Let’s go visit the doctor.” Children then see what a doctor’s office looks like and what happens in the office during a child checkup. First, the doctor will ask you how you feel and the checkup begins. The video mentions that the doctor checks not only if you are feeling well, or if you are sick but also if you are growing well.
Children learn what a stethoscope is and how it checks your heart and lungs. Also, children learn that a nurse often helps the doctor during the check-up and asks questions that the doctor needs to know. The video explains to children that there are many different kinds of doctors and details about what an optometrist does. Billy, a young boy in the video gets some cool green glasses and describes his experience positively.
The video also carefully explains the difference between a doctor and a veterinarian.
This video is a valuable teaching tool for parents teaching their children about doctors and for teachers teaching social studies to young students. This material would work well as an introduction activity, enrichment activity and as a fun supplemental activity for teachers in the classroom and homeschooling families as well.

Letter Z Phonics for Kids Learn the Alphabet Kids Academy
Install now Kids Academy Talented & Gifted: https://smart.link/5d9b5460c7805
Learning the alphabet is the foundation for phonics instruction and reading success. A young child faces a challenging task of learning the names of 26 capital and lowercase letters and each letter’s sound, or in some cases, more than one sound.
Also, factor in naming which letters are vowels and which letters are consonants and the task is even more challenging for young learners. Parents and teachers often question how to learn the alphabet in the best way. Children benefit and learn best when different materials and activities are used to present letters and sounds. Instructional videos can reinforce and provide enrichment activities when learning the alphabet.
The letter Z is a very fun letter to learn about. The letter’s sound is fun to learn because it is easier to distinguish between other letter sounds This video presents the letter Z and teaches the sound of Z. At the beginning of the video, the letter Z appears on the screen. Then the video voiceover enunciates the letter Z sound three times and then asks the viewer to say the sound of letter z.
The viewer is then shown the words zipper, zebra and zoo. These are word examples that young children are familiar with and now associate with the letter Z. The Z sound is pronounced when the word appears. The video length is excellent in that it is long enough to teach the letter Z and it’s sound, while not being too long so that a young child loses interest. The video’s animation of the zipper, zebra, and zoo appeals to young learners and is visually inviting.
Using instructional videos when helping children with how to learn the alphabet is fun and provides additional visual and auditory learning experiences for young children. Learning letter Z and other letters are easier and more interesting with different ways of learning the alphabet.

Teaching measurement and comparing lengths has many benefits. Young children that have a good understanding of measurement have the skills to compare attributes of objects and classify things in their environments in different ways. Measurement links math to their everyday lives, other school subjects, and increases understanding of number concepts and spatial skills.
At Kid’s Academy, measurement and comparing lengths are explained and taught clearly and concisely with video lessons and worksheet activities.
The video lessons include instruction on comparing lengths and height of objects. Students learn how to classify objects as tallest, shortest, or longer and shorter. Students use higher order thinking skills to answer questions such as: what is the second shortest object or what object is shorter than the giraffe but taller than the tiger? The recorded lessons about comparing lengths for kids include answering questions such as finding the correct illustration with clues such as: Emma is shorter that Jenny, Jenny is shorter than Sarah. The video teachers define measurement terms and show students how to think through the more difficult questions with illustrations and examples on the teacher whiteboard.
Often in life, measuring without a ruler or other tool is required. Students, using these video lessons have the opportunity to measure items using non-standard units as well as measuring using an inch ruler. Comparing non-standard units to standard measurement tools allows students to connect measurement to their world.
Think of activities that go beyond the video lessons. Comparing length for kids is more fun when learning is extended. Compare the heights of children in the home or classroom. In the classroom, who has the longest pencil as compared to the teacher’s pencil? Ask the students if it is better to measure the length of a book with paper clips or a broomstick. Go outside and measure the length of the playground with a yardstick and a ruler. Have fun with this math skill!
The video illustrations are colorful, engaging and relevant for school and home classes that are comparing lengths for 1st grade. Teachers and parents using these resources from Kids Academy find the videos ideal for teaching, re-teaching, practice and enrichment.

Social Studies for kindergarten and preschool students begins the moment they enter a classroom. A classroom is a community in itself outside the home. Social studies is defined as the relationship people with their environment and the world that they live in. First-grade social studies have this first lesson starting on the first day of class when the kid enters a new community. This social studies learning continues from the classroom to the neighborhood and then all around the world.
What is a community?
A child needs to know that “A community is a group of people working or living together in the same area.”
The social studies for kindergarten start teaching community houses in three steps.
1. The Classroom Community
The classroom of preschool is a small, safe community in which the kids learn the concepts of social studies with the help of pretend games, group activities and block building. With the help of these activities, kids learn to:
accept differences
deal with their emotions
resolving conflicts
develop social skills
share
take turns
responsibility
By performing small tasks in the classroom like turning out the lights, handing out water cups or napkins during lunch time, kids develop a sense of responsibility and work ethic of community homes.
2. The Neighborhood Community
Now you can help the kids to apply the concepts that they learned in class, it dealing with the neighborhood community. Tell them about the things and parts in a neighborhood community such as homes, playground, park, banks, police station, restaurants, and schools. Let the kids observe the stores and markets in their neighborhood and ask what kind of merchandise they sell. Make cardboard cut paste activities where kids have to paste the picture of merchandise in front of the correct store.
3. Class Trips
The third step in this learning is to take kids out on school trips and let them learn about other communities and places in the world. This interactive and practical learning is essential in teaching the basics of social studies for kindergarten.
