The idea behind the Volkswagen, or “people’s car,” was initially conceived in the early 1930’s, before ultimately coming to fruition by the outbreak of the Second World War. Adolf Hitler, the Fuhrer of Nazi Germany, commissioned a vehicle that would be affordable, practical, and most important of all, available to every member of society in the ‘Grossdeutschland’. The general production of the Volkswagen ultimately stalled during the Second World War, however, as the Third Reich was forced to mobilise its national industries in order to keep up with the demands of their military efforts.

Operation 'Greif', also known as Operation Griffin
As their last trick the Germans planned to create chaos and confusion among the American troops.
The essence of the plan was to form a unit consisting of German soldiers who spoke fluent English with an American dialect.
It was planned for these Germans to be dressed up as American soldiers and equipped with American weapons, tanks and vehicles.

On May 18th 1933, on the direct orders of Stalin himself, 5000 men and women arrived at Nazino, a small isolated island on the River Orb, deep in the remote and barren wilderness of Western Siberia. The Yama-Ichi War was a feud mainly fought in the south-central Japanese region of Kansai, between the Yamaguchi-gumi and the Ichiwa-kai gangster syndicates in the 1980s.
Though its roots were in 1984, when the yakuza parent gang of the Yamaguchi-gumi was sectioned into two factions, the feud was at its most violent between January 1985 and February 1986.
