Hoy vamos a revisar como graficar funciones en GeoGebra, vamos a ver un poco de todo. Empezaremos graficando una función lineal o de primer grado muy sencilla, la función y = x.

Veremos en el video que hemos preparado como cambiar el color de una gráfica, recta o curva, como aumentar el grosor de la línea, y algunas opciones de configuración básica para cambiar el diseño del plano cartesiano que nos ofrece GeoGebra.

Luego veremos la gráfica de una función cuadrática y como encontrar las intersecciones con los ejes x y y, también como solucionar ecuaciones cuadráticas online o ecuaciones de segundo grado.

También veremos cómo encontrar los ceros de un polinomio y como introducir textos en GeoGebra.

Finalmente, veremos cómo graficar una función por partes en GeoGebra, y como compartir tus creaciones en GeoGebra.

Do you know how to calculate sales tax? In part six of our Financial Literacy for Kids series, you will learn how to do just that! Sales tax is an extra cost that is added to a product or service that you buy. The government uses sales tax money to pay for things, such as new roads and water lines.

Some states don't use a sales tax. Those states are Delaware, Alaska, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon. That means that if you want to buy something for $100, you only pay exactly $100, and no more. There are also states that don't charge sales tax on certain kinds of purchases, such as groceries and food or prescription medications.

Sales tax is calculated as a percentage of the purchase price of an item. Generally, the percentage is somewhere between 4% and 9%. Keep watching to follow along with the example to figure out how to calculate sales tax. You will also learn a cool trick for calculating sales tax easily!

Linear Algebra on Khan Academy: Have you ever wondered what the difference is between speed and velocity? Ever try to visualize in four dimensions or six or seven? Linear algebra describes things in two dimensions, but many of the concepts can be extended into three, four or more. Linear algebra implies two dimensional reasoning, however, the concepts covered in linear algebra provide the basis for multi-dimensional representations of mathematical reasoning. Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigenvectors/values all help us to visualize and understand multi dimensional concepts. This is an advanced course normally taken by science or engineering majors after taking at least two semesters of calculus (although calculus really isn't a prereq) so don't confuse this with regular high school algebra.

What is a fish? If you're not sure, in this video for kids, we will learn all about fish!
