Who is George Washington? What did George Washington do? Did he cut down a cherry tree? In this video we learn all about George Washington for kids. George Washington was the very first president of the United States and has a profound impact on history not only in the United States but in the whole world! In this short but fun introduction video you and your students will learn all about him and the impact he had on the world.
George Washington was the first President of the United States. He was
born February 22, 1732 in Virginia. At age 16 he had a job as a surveyor, which means he measured the size
of new land turning the information into maps. He later became a landowner in Mount Vernon, Virginia and was
elected to the Virginia legislature.
Due to problems with the British wanting to control the colonies,
Washington led the Continental Army in a victory over the British during
a war called the American Revolution.
Several years later, after the war, Washington was elected as President
in 1789 until 1797. He helped create and guide the government based
on the words of the Constitution, and he took on many roles that are still
part of the presidency today.

What do you know about the wars that the United States of America has participated in? In this video, you and your students will learn about the Korean and Vietnam Wars, the conflicts that caused the wars, and the resulting effects on the countries involved.
After World War II, Japan lost control and occupation of Korea. The country divided at the 38th parallel, with North Korea as a communist country and South Korea as a capitalist country. The two areas did not get along, even before the war. The two countries officially split, and in June of 1950, North Korea invaded South Korea and began the war.
The Korean War ended up being a fairly short war, but many lives were lost, including civilians of the country and U.S. military. The Vietnam War followed shortly after and lasted 20 years. The United States sent troops to Vietnam about 10 years after the war began after Ho Chi Minh declared war against South Vietnam and bombed two U.S. destroyers. The goal was to unite North and South Vietnam; however, the U.S. and South Vietnam were unsuccessful. It was not a popular war, and the military who served in the war were treated very poorly when they returned.
We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about the Korean and Vietnam wars. If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

What do you know about the American Civil War? In Civil War History, you will learn why the states in the North and South fought each other so fiercely. You will discover some interesting facts, and some very sad facts, about the war and its participants. The entire conflict revolved around the concept of slavery and whether or not the country should be able to practice it.
There were 11 states in the southern region of the country that wanted to continue enslaving Africans to work their tobacco and cotton fields. The states wanted to secede from the union and govern themselves in order to continue practicing slavery. When the government refused, the South attacked the North in the Battle of Fort Sumter and began the war.
You will learn who some of the leaders involved in the conflict were, including Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee. President Abraham Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation some time before the end of the war, but it was not immediately followed by the South. Near the end of the same year, President Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address in November of 1863, and it is considered one of the most powerful oratories given by any U.S. president. On April 9, 1865, Grant defeated Lee and finally ended the war. Only six days later, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth.

What does Newton's last law of motion state? In this Newton's Third Law of Motion video for kids, you will learn the answer to that question and much more. The third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. What does this actually mean?
Think of a rocket. The exhaust from an erupting rocket moves downward while the actual rocket moves upward. Another example is found when a cannonball shoots out of a cannon. The cannonball shoots forward as the cannon moves backward. Because the cannon is so much heavier than the cannonball, it doesn't look like it moves very far, but the reaction is still equal in the amount of force.
One last thing. Have you ever tried to move heavy furniture? You may have noticed that it starts out kind of hard to move. However, as you start to move the heavy object, it gets a little easier. The friction that happens is sliding friction, which is the same sensation you get when you rub your hands together really quickly! Notice how your hands get warm? That's why!
We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about Newton's final law of motion! If you want to learn even more, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

So what's with those small, plastic cards that adults use to buy stuff? In Financial LiteracyโDebit and Credit, your students will discover the answer to that question. They will also realize that credit cards and debit cards are different, and each one can be helpful in different ways.
Credit cards and debit cards are both small, hard, plastic cards. But apart from that, they are quite difference. Credit cards, for instance, are not linked to a bank account, but debit cards are. That means you can use debit cards to pay for things with money you already have. Generally speaking, a debit card is directly linked to a checking account. Credit cards use money that is loaned. You can use it to buy something and pay for it later.
Credit card companies issue credit cards, and it's like a type of loan. You can pay back the loan according to the credit company's schedule. You usually have to make a minimum payment each month to reduce your debt. They can also charge interest if it takes you longer to pay the money back or if you don't pay the full amount back every month. However, if you pay your credit card bills in full every month, you won't be charged any interest.
We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about these important skills! If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

Photosynthesis for Kids is a great science video aimed to teach 1st to 3rd grade students learn about Photosynthesis and how plants are able to make their own food!
In this video we teach that plants and animals are living things. Both need the food and energy to live. Animals get their energy from the plants and animals they eat. Plants, however, do not have a mouth and cannot eat like animals.
The food-making process for plants is called photosynthesis. It might be a big word, but photosynthesis is used by plants to make their own food as well as produce oxygen for other living creatures.
Without plants making their own food through photosynthesis, living things could not survive. People and animals eat the food that comes from plants, but also take in the oxygen released by the plants. The air you breathe in has oxygen which came from plants.
So we learn that Photosynthesis is important not only for plants but for all living things! Come learn more in the video!
