Hickory Dickory Dock song is a freshly modified video version of the traditional rhyme for kids aged 4 and under. It mimics the sounds of a grandfather's clock ticking and chiming on the wall.
Originally the words โhickoryโ, โdickoryโ and โdockโ meant โeightโ, โnineโ and โtenโ in the Celtic language. These days this is number one rhyme for introducing the basics for time telling. Kids listen, repeat and sing the rhyme to learn to tell the times. Below you can find lyrics to Hickory Dickory Dock song.

The clock struck one,
The mouse went down,
Hickory dickory dock.
Hickory dickory dock,
The bear went up the clock.
The clock struck two,
The bear ran down,
Hickory dickory dock.
Hickory dickory dock,
The parrot went up the clock.
The clock struck three,
The parrot went down,
Hickory dickory dock.
Hickory dickory dock,
The monkey went up the clock.
The clock struck four,
The monkey went down,
Hickory dickory dock.
Hickory Dickory dock,
The pig went up the clock.

Learn to Read | Read Words In Order | Reading for Kids | Kids Academy
Reading forms a very important part of the childโs initial academics. It is also a very difficult lesson for kids and mostly it is seen that kids struggle with it. However, if it is made easy and everything is explained to the kid in an easy way this can also become a very easy and a very interesting lesson.
It is important for teachers and parents to know that each kid is different, and each kid takes a different amount of time to grasp a concept. Therefore, putting pressure on the kid will not help him/her to get any better.
Now how can you help the kid to read fluently? There are some simple tips and tricks that you can follow to make reading for preschool and kindergarten kids easy.
1. Practice makes a man perfect
Read with your kid as much as you can. Be patient and donโt expect the child to start reading just after a few readings. With more and more practice the kid will slowly start understanding the sounds and alphabets and how they are working together. Start with small words.
2. Donโt burden the child
It is important the kid does not feel too much pressurized. If you burden the kid with a new difficult word every day it would become very difficult for him/her to cope up with it. So, take things slowly let the kid get familiarized with some words and then move forward.
3. Read what the kid likes
Itโs better than you read a storybook that the kid likes, it would create more interest in the child and he would be more curious to read and understand what his/her favorite characters are saying. It would enhance the learning process.
4. Encourage participation
Encourage the kid to participate in the process and read with you. Ask questions while reading for example if you are reading a story with a dog in it, every once in a while, ask โso where is the dog?โ. This will keep the child attentive and also, they will be better able to identify individual words.
So, these are some of the best ways in which you can learn to read for kids

Finance and capital markets on Khan Academy: Interest is the basis of modern capital markets. Depending on whether you are lending or borrowing, it can be viewed as a return on an asset (lending) or the cost of capital (borrowing). This tutorial gives an introduction to this fundamental concept, including what it means to compound. It also gives a rule of thumb that might make it easy to do some rough interest calculations in your head.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Reading a ruler that measures in inches.
Reading a ruler can be a little tricky. What do all of these marks represent?
The ruler is divided into inches which are represented by numbers and then each inch is subdivided into smaller equal units.
In this video, I use a ruler divided into half an inch, one fourth an inch, and one eighth.
With a little practice you will find easy an inch ruler or tape measure can be easy.

In All about the UK for Kids, you will learn about the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. When people mention the UK, they are not talking about a country but about the countries that are part of it! Those four countries are England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. And no, Northern Ireland is not the same as Ireland. Those are two separate countries, and Ireland is not part of the UK.
The official name of this collection of countries is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. That's because Great Britain constitutes England, Scotland, and Wales.
The largest country by both area and population is England. Believe it or not, even though Northern Ireland is an entire country, fewer people live there than in London, England! London is home to nearly 9 million people, while Northern Ireland in its entirely is home to about 1.8 million people.
There are some really interesting places to visit throughout the UK. One of them is Loch Ness in Scotland. The word "loch" means lake, so the loch ness monster is the monster of Lake Ness. Another fascinating place is the tower of Big Ben. What you may not know is that the actual name of Big Ben is Great Bell. And Big Ben doesn't refer to the tower but to the bell itself. Let's see what else you can learn!
