Freshwater ecosystems
There are several different types of freshwater ecosystems.
Freshwater has a low salinity. In this video is cover streams and rivers, along with lakes and ponds.
In addition, I cover wetlands. There are two major types, swamps, and marshes. A marsh is a wetland without trees and a swamp has trees growing in the water.
There is no standard definition about the size of a pond or a lake, however, the water in lakes and ponds have low salinity.

Schools have sometimes trimmed recess to make more time for instruction, or withheld the daily break as punishment for misbehavior. Yet research shows this time can be used to reinforce a positive school culture. Playworks is a national nonprofit that promotes organized, intentional recess. A study of the model shows that children learn and practice conflict resolution, compromise, and self-regulation, as well as leadership and physical activity. Students work as engineers to design and test trebuchets (in this case LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robots) that can launch objects. During the testing stage, they change one variable at a time to study its effect on the outcome of their designs. Specifically, they determine how far objects travel depending on their weights. As students learn about the different components of robot design and the specific function controls, they determine what design features are important for launching objects.

It's Kids Academy and welcome back to our channel! When comparing numbers, learners will examine and then assess whether a given number is greater than, less than or equal to another number. When students are comparing numbers correctly, they are able to make logical estimations, solve division problems more easily and develop number sense.

When children are efficient with counting to 100 and familiar with place value, then they can begin to compare 2-digit numbers. Students usually doing math in 1st grade are ready to be comparing numbers. Using base 10 counting blocks, students can show a given quantity.

For example, the number of twenty-five can be shown with the blocks as 2 tens and 5 ones. Likewise, number 43 can be shown as 4 tens and 3 ones. The student can easily see that number 43 is greater than 25. Now the child can assign the “greater than” math symbol to the problem.

Base 10 counting blocks are a great tool to use when comparing numbers for 1st grade, but other visual tools are effective when teaching this math skill.

The Kid’s Academy comparing numbers video is a great visual for instruction or reinforcement of this math concept. In the video, the student sees fun race cars zooming down a track. Each of the cars has 2 digit numbers on the side. The speaker in the video then compares the different numbers on the cars.

Students are also shown how to assign the “greater than” and “less than” math symbols correctly as well as reminded to look at the number in the tens place when first making the comparison. Furthermore, students are shown several racing cars and have ample opportunity to practice comparing 2-digit numbers.

Comparing numbers for 1st grade is fun with the use of the counters and engaging videos. After instruction students are ready to compare and describe quantities and use this knowledge in everyday life.

"Itsy Bitsy Spider" (also known as "Incy Wincy Spider") and several other similar-sounding names) is a popular nursery rhyme and fingerplay that describes the adventures of a spider as it ascends, descends, and reascends the downspout or "waterspout" of a gutter system. It is usually accompanied by a sequence of gestures that mimic the words of the song.

Alternately touch the thumb of one hand to the index finger of the other.

Meet our chess lesson for kids: Learn to Play Chess - Starting Positions on the Board | Kids Academy

To learn to play chess you must know about the starting positions of the chess board. There is a light colored in the right-hand corner of the board. In the starting positions on board one player has the ranks 1 and 2 closest to them, while the other player has the ranks 7 and 88 closest to them. Both armies will be facing each other.

Pawns are the shield of the while army, they are in front of the army meaning in the second row. The rooks are on the corners of ranks. Queens start on D8 and D1 for both armies. Kings are placed next to the queen on E8 and E1. Bishops are on the sides of king and queen meaning on C8, F8 and C1, F1. In the end, come the knights, placed on B8, G8 and B1, G1. This is a basic lesson of chess for beginners to learn positions of pieces on chess board.
