One mental health expert likens a student suicide to a bomb going off in the school. Those closest to the student are most directly affected, but the impact can impact the entire student body, even those who didn’t know the student well. It’s critical that schools respond in the correct way, both to help students and staff heal, and to prevent additional suicides. Schools have to walk a fine line between not glamorizing the death, but not ignoring it either. They need to provide opportunities for students and staff to grieve and receive counseling. We talk with mental health professionals about how schools should respond. Learn the diference between saturated,unsaturated, and supersaturated solutions.
Science Standard
When you have an unsaturated solution less solute then the solution is capable of dissolving is mixed in.
With a saturated solution there is so much solute present that if you were to add any more it will not dissolve and excess salt will fall to the bottom of the container.
If you mix in 40 grams of salt at 90 degrees into 100 grams of water.

A supersaturated solution contains more than the maximum amount of dissolved solute then the solvent is able to dissolve at a given temperature.

Tissues are made up of the same types of cells that do the same function. There are four tissue types in our body: connective tissue, epithelial tissue, muscle tissue and nervous tissue. The organs are made up of tissues that work together to perform the same function. Their main function ranges from locomotion to a heart beat. The organism is made up of apparatuses and organ systems. Organ systems are made up of organs that work in a coordinated manner to perform a function. The apparatuses are made up of different organs and organ systems that carry out a function together.

The students at Ron Brown College Preparatory High School are “kings.” All freshmen. All young men of color. All determined to change the dominant narrative about young black men in Washington: too many read below grade-level and won’t graduate high school. This new public school in Washington D.C. opened its doors in August 2016 and is radically different. Not just because it is a public school for boys, but because it's designed specifically to meet the needs of D.C.’s young men of color. The school’s principal and the majority of its teachers are black men. They begin each morning in a school-wide circle, navigating conversations that include neighborhood violence and police shootings, protest and poverty. Many schools do one or two of these things, but few do them all – and with the conviction of Ron Brown’s staff. For the past year, through a partnership between Education Week and NPR, we visited Ron Brown weekly -- and some weeks, daily -- to witness the birth of this new school and to see how its staff tackles some of the toughest challenges in education today. We spent hundreds of hours there, from the earliest days to the last bell.

This activity focuses on the use of graphene in organic fibers, and their applications in organic electronics, e-textiles and wearable technologies. Students learn about the properties of graphene—a unique form of carbon—and how graphene-based fibers are fabricated, how to measure resistance, how to calculate resistivity, and how a material changes its electrical properties. Students also learn about the importance of defining design parameters, which is an important concept in the engineering design process. Students create graphite-based fibers using sodium alginate as the medium and a calcium coagulation bath, which is similar to the way in which graphene-based fibers are created in engineering research laboratories. Students then determine the factors that contribute to resistivity and vary these parameters to optimize fiber resistivity.

Comets Asteroids and Meteors are all over the solar system. But did you know that each are quite different? You may be wondering "What is a comet?", "What is an asteroid made of?", or "Where does a meteor come from?" Well, sit tight because in this video we will answer all of your questions!

We first take a closer look at asteroids for kids. Asteroids are the largest of the space rocks, but may also
include metal substances. Most of them go around the Sun
between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The area of orbit is
called the Asteroid Belt, which includes an inner and an outer
region. The inner region is made up of asteroids that mostly
contain metal (Gold, Iron, Platinum, and Nickel). The outer region contains asteroids mostly made
up of rocks.

We then explain what a comet is. You can think of a comet
as a large snowball filled with or covered by dust, metal, and debris. They have an icy core, covered by a
layer of black dust. The center is mainly composed of water and gases, frozen and mixed together with bits
of rock and metal. A comet in the outer parts of the Solar System is too small to be seen from Earth. We then talk about the difference between short and long period comets.

Lastly, we explore Meteors, meteoroids, and meteorites. Meteors are sometimes called falling or shooting stars, and they begin
as meteoroids traveling through the Earth’s atmosphere. They are not
stars. They are small pieces of rock or metal originating from a comet or
asteroid. They form from colliding asteroids of debris from comets. A meteorite is a meteoroid that does not burn
up in the Earth’s atmosphere, but instead, falls to
the Earth’s surface.
