A quick example of how to solve an equation with fractions. We call this the fraction buster method. Find the least common multiple of the denominators and multiply!
This college algebra video tutorial focuses on solving rational equations with fractions and variables and with different denominators. This video contains a few examples and practice problems for you to work on. One of the best things I can recommend is multiplying both sides of the equation by the common denominator if you have multiple fractions to clear away all fractions from the equation. This will make it a lot easier to solve. You also need to know how to factor trinomials when the leading coefficient is 1 and when it's not. Make sure to write the quadratic equation in the form ax^2+bx+c before factoring the trinomial.
