During the Stone Age, which started roughly 3.3 million years ago and ended around 8700 and 2000 BC, many scientists have speculated about the possibility that Neanderthals, modern humans and mammoths shared the same space .
In fact, Neanderthals lived until about 40,000 years ago and mammoths until 4,000 years ago.

The year was 1822 and appeared in the Missouri Republican newspaper was an ad requiring 'One Hundred enterprising young men......' to trap beaver along the Missouri river for a period of up to three years.
One of the men to apply was Hugh Glass, a 40 year old frontiersman from Pennsylvania.

A Creeping Barrage also known as the Rolling barrage was an artillery tactic of World War One.
It included the gradual advance of artillery fire in order to provide cover for the infantry pushing forward towards the enemy trenches.
However, it was difficult to carry out in practice.

The Bubonic plague, more commonly known as the Black Death due to the black ‘buboes’ that would swell in the armpits and groins of victims, decimated the population of Europe during the Middle Ages, from 1347 to 1351.
As the plague's death toll increased and people continued to be struck down by the disease throughout Europe and entire families were being wiped out, plague doctors began to get desperate and creative with so-called plague “cures.”

At the dawning of the Second World War, emboldened by the Anschluss, Adolf Hitler turned his focus to the Sudetenland, a heavily industrialised region of Czechoslovakia with a considerable population of ethnic Germans. Fearing the outbreak of another bloody conflict, Britain and France entered into a policy of appeasement with Nazi Germany, engaging in a four-power conference that would culminate in the signing of the Munich Agreement. Ultimately, Hitler would betray the trust of the western powers, and the Munich Agreement is now remembered in history as a byword for the futility of appeasing aggressive, totalitarian states.
The fact that it took place in 1938 should tell you if it was successful or not!

At the end of 1941 in reaction to the German invasion, Stalin ordered the formation of sapper or engineer brigades in the Red Army.
During the offensive, they were tasked with constructing obstacles such as anti-tank hedgehogs and mines to slow down the German tanks and infantry.
Assault Sappers proved themselves in many battles from Kursk to Berlin, especially where standard units had no success.

Sloped armor - an armor technique of inclining the armor plates in order to achieve superior strength and protection. Massively utilized in WWII, this technique would prove life saving in numerous occasions, giving the Soviet tank forces a fighting edge over the German counterparts. But it did come with some limitations and problems. How does it work, what are the good and bad things concerning the sloped armor, when was this technique used and when did that usage end? How did simple physics help deflect and outdate huge number of anti-tank weapons and what was the end game for it?

Battle of Takur Ghar, War in Afghanistan
In 2003, Chapman was posthumously awarded the Air Force Cross for his courage, selfless dedication to duty that day and extraordinary heroism.
But after a prolonged campaign, this was upgraded in 2018 to the US Armed Services highest award for bravery and valor, the Medal of Honour.

One of the most famous and cruelest of the witch trials was the “Swimming test” or as it was often called in Europe, the ”Floatation test”.
*This episode is not specifically about the Salem Witch trials, where no one was executed for witchcraft by burning. This is about witch trials in general: Hanging was most common, but burning did happen.

The Sepoy Uprising, which took place in India in 1857 - 58, is seen as one of the most shocking insurrections to take place against a colonial power during the 19th century. Although the uprising was ultimately unsuccessful, it fundamentally changed the nature of British rule in the subcontinent and is sometimes known, in India, as the First War of Independence.
