Improved math is a channel created to provide additional instruction on essential math concepts. I’m passionate about math and I know first-hand how important math concepts are in the real world.

Teachers, parents, guardians, homeschoolers, and students can use these videos to help reinforce math skills. These math videos are designed to help teach yourself math or provide self-study math tools to assist when additional instruction is needed. Teaching math and learning math has changed the way many students learn in this virtual environment and during the pandemic. Having on-demand math videos can provide math tutoring needed when children are not able to get help from their teachers after school hours or when trying to do math at home.

The library of math tutorials that I create can also be used as supplemental instructional material for homeschool math. Each full-length video comes with a subsequent knowledge check or math practice problems which serve as a virtual math topic worksheet to test your understanding of each skill. These videos can be paused to work out the problems on your own, then unpaused to check your answers. All of these videos can be found under the Knowledge Check playlist.

I also have a library of shorter videos (less than 1 minute in length - shorts) that are quick math tips and tricks on basic math topics. Some of these short math help videos include problems that you can work on yourself and submit your answers in the comments. They are all listed under my Math Tips and Tricks playlist.

This chemistry video tutorial provides a basic introduction into electrochemical cells such as galvanic cells also known as voltaic cells. A galvanic cell is device such as a battery which converts chemical energy into electrical energy. A galvanic is made using two electrodes known as the anode and the cathode. Oxidation occurs at the anode and reduction occurs in the cathode. The electrons are written on the right of an oxidation half-reaction and they are located on the left side of a reduction half-reaction. Oxidation involves the loss of electrons and reduction is associated with the gain of electrons. Electrons always flow from the anode to the cathode. The purpose of the salt bridge is to prevent the build up of charge. Cations flow through the salt bridge toward the cathode and anions flow toward the anode. This electrochemistry explains completely how a galvanic cell works. It discusses how to write the overall reaction from the half reactions and how to represent the cell using standard line notation or cell notation. The electromotive force of a galvanic cell is measured in volts and 1 volt is 1 joule per coulomb. Voltage represents the work that can be done per coulomb of electric charge. Electric current is the rate at which electric charge is transferred. This video discusses how to increase the voltage and current delivered by a galvanic cell.

Linear Algebra on Khan Academy: Have you ever wondered what the difference is between speed and velocity? Ever try to visualize in four dimensions or six or seven? Linear algebra describes things in two dimensions, but many of the concepts can be extended into three, four or more. Linear algebra implies two dimensional reasoning, however, the concepts covered in linear algebra provide the basis for multi-dimensional representations of mathematical reasoning. Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigenvectors/values all help us to visualize and understand multi dimensional concepts. This is an advanced course normally taken by science or engineering majors after taking at least two semesters of calculus (although calculus really isn't a prereq) so don't confuse this with regular high school algebra.

Learn about the steps of protein synthesis, the creation of long chains of amino acids from DNA.
It begins in the nucleus with transcription and moves to the ribosome where translation takes place.
Translation occurs in the nucleus when RNA polymerase attaches to the DNA and unzips a portion of the DNA.
mRNA or messenger RNA begins to fill in the DNA.
RNA is similar to DNA but contains Uracil instead of thymine.
This strand of mRNA leaves the nucleus and travels to a ribosome where translation will begin.
The messenger RNA will be read three units at a time called a codon.
The anticodon on the transfer RNA aligns with the correct codon and delivers an amino acid.
This continues and a polypeptide chain begins to grow.
