This statistics video explains how to use the p-value to solve problems associated with hypothesis testing. When the p-value is less than alpha, you should reject the null hypothesis and vice versa. This video discusses when you should use a one tailed test compared to a two tailed test. It contains two example problems that illustrates how to use the p-value method to determine if you should reject or not reject the null hypothesis.

Have you ever been to the country just north of the United States of America? In All about Canada for Kids, you will learn lots of interesting facts about this cool neighbor of ours. For instance, Canada is the second-largest country in the world but is home to only about half of 1% of the world's total population! That's a lot of space for so few people.
Canada is made up of 10 provinces and 3 territories. Ottawa, Ontario, is the capitol city, and the largest city is Toronto, Ontario. The second-largest city in Canada is Montréal, Québec. It's a major seaport and one of the biggest French-speaking countries in the world. After all, both English and French are the two official languages of the country. Nearly half the people in Canada have British ancestors, and around one-fourth have French ancestors. There is also a small group of First Nations people and Inuit who live there.
Lots of different animals lives among the mountains, plains, forests, and lakes of Canada. Some of these include bears, beavers, moose, mountain lions, bison, antelope, caribou, foxes, owls, and even polar bears! There are 41 national parks and 3 conservation areas throughout the country. One of the most famous national parks in Canada is Banff National Park.
We hope you and your student(s) enjoyed learning about the country of Canada! If you want even more information, head over to our website and download one of our many free lesson plans, full of activities, worksheets, and more!

This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into RL circuits which are made of inductors and resistors. It explains how to calculate the instantaneous current at any time as well as the maximum current after the switch has been closed for a long time. It discusses how to calculate the time constant given the inductance and the resistance and how to determine how many time constants is required for the inductor to be 99.4% charged. This video explains how to calculate the voltage across the inductor and the resistor as well as the battery. It explains how to determine the instantaneous rate at which energy is being consumed by the resistor and the inductor. The emf induced by the inductor is dependent on the rate at which the current is changing in the circuit. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

To understand how fossils are formed, students model the process of fossilization by making fossils using small toy figures and melted chocolate. They extend their knowledge to the many ways that engineers aid in the study of fossils, including the development of tools and technologies for determining the physical and chemical properties of fossilized organisms, and how those properties tell a story of our changing world.

In this activity, students learn about the engineering design process and use it to solve a design problem involving detergent and dirty clothes. The problem presented is a spot on a favorite shirt while on a camping trip. Students move through the engineering design process, as they design, build, and test a prototype of a portable washing machine

Through Internet research, patent research, standards and codes research, user interviews (if possible) and other techniques (idea web, reverse engineering), students further develop the context for their design challenge. In subsequent activities, the design teams use this body of knowledge about the problem to generate product design ideas. (Note: Conduct this activity in the context of a design project that students are working on, which could be a challenge determined by the teacher, brainstormed with the class, or the example project challenge provided [to design a prosthetic arm that can perform a mechanical function]. This activity is Step 2 in a series of seven steps that guide students through the engineering design process.)

Land reform, where estates had been taken from rich landowners and redistributed to the peasants had taken place shortly after the communists had come to power.
Collectivisation, where peasants lost their own pieces of land and instead worked for wages on land owned by the state had also begun to take place.
Mao believed this was not enough to expand both agricultural and industrial production and instead introduced the second five-year plan in 1958.
This would become known as the ‘Great Leap Forward’.

Pavlov’s House
The stronghold of the 13th Guards was located at the bombed out NKVD headquarters, a soviet government law enforcement agency. From this location, the troops resisted the initial German assault and took to improving their defensive position. On September 25th, the commander of the 42nd Guards Rifle Regiment ordered the men of his 3rd Rifle Battalion to capture two buildings that seemed like a good position for setting up a defense against German attacks. Junior Sergeant Yakov Fedotovich Pavlov of the 13th Guards Rifle Division was tasked with seizing one of the buildings at the edge of the 9th January Square. On September 27th, followed by three soldiers from his squad, Pavlov entered the building under the cover of night and drove the defending Germans out of it. Once in their hands, the commander of the 42nd regiment designated it “Pavlov’s House”.

Q: Do you speak at conferences?
A: Yes! My ability to speak at teacher conferences during the school year is "tight" because I am currently a classroom teacher and only have a set number of personal days. However, the SUMMER time is wide-open and I'd love to come to your conference and do a session/seminar! Some of the topics I've typically spoken to teachers about include music and technology in the classroom, classroom management, running a creative morning meeting, and utilizing YouTube in the early childhood classroom. Email me at pete@harrykindergartenmusic.com to make a speaking request.
Q: Can my class perform a "Harry Kindergarten song" for an audience?
A: If you desire to have your class or group of students perform one of my “Harry Kindergarten” songs for an audience, please note that there is a $6.00 PERFORMANCE FEE.
Here are some hypothetical examples of performance groups:
* Students perform a song for an audience during a graduation ceremony.
* Students perform a song for an audience during a school or community talent show.
* Students perform a song for an audience during a school assembly.
If you are unsure if you need to purchase a performance license or not, please inquire at: pete@harrykindergartenmusic.com. If you want more details about using a song multiple years or multiple classes, etc., e-mail me for a detailed PDF file.
$6.00 can be sent to:

At five am on the 3rd of October 1935 Italian forces crossed into Abyssinia, modern day Ethiopia, signalling the start of the Second Italian-Abyssinian War.
The war’s outcome would not only change the face of Africa but the political rifts it caused between the fascist nations and the democratic nations would contribute to the beginning of the most devastating conflict the human race has ever known, the Second World War.

Students begin to explore the idea of a force. To further their understanding of drag, gravity and weight, they conduct activities that model the behavior of parachutes and helicopters. An associated literacy activity engages the class to recreate the Wright brothers' first flight in the style of the "You Are There" television series.
