Because the Earth is tilted at a 23.5 degrees angle and also rotates and revolves around the earth the length of the day varies though out the year
During each equinox, both hemispheres receive almost equal amounts of sunlight
12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of nighttime
The actual day in which both hemispheres receive exactly 12 hours sunlight and darkness is called the equilux and usually occurs a couple days before the march equinox and a few days after the September equinox.
The day of the solstice in either hemisphere has either the most sunlight of the year which is the summer solstice or the least sunlight of the year which is the (winter solstice) except at the equator.
Does the sun always rise exactly due east and due west ?
Remember the sun apears to rise and set due to the movement of the Earth
Actually the sun rises due east and sets due west two times a year. in each hemisphere
In the northern hemisphere on March 20 or 21 depending n the year you have the first day of spring and the sun is directly above the equator. This is called the vernal equinox. Vernal means fresh or new like spring. and the sun will rise due east. Moving forward the sun then starts rising a little more northeast each day until June 20th or 21st depending on the year . This is called the summer solstice and it is the longest day of the year. After the summer solstice sun starts rising less to the north until september 22nd or 23rd which is the autumn equinox. The sun will be directly above the equator again. After this the the sun will rise a little more southern until December 21st or 22nd which is the shortest day of the year called the winter solstice. After this day the sun will rise a little more northern until march 20th or 21st which is the vernal equinox. It takes a year to complete this cycle.
In the southern hemisphere the vernal equinox is september 22 or 23 the summer solstice is December 21 or 22, the autumnal equinox is March 20 or 21 and the winter solstice is June 20 or 21st.

Learn what an isotope is in chemistry. Isotopes are two or more types of atoms that have the same atomic number, which represents the number of protons and position in the periodic table but have different mass numbers due to different numbers of neutrons in their nuclei
In order to find the number of neutrons subtract the number of protons from the mass number.

Element vs Compound
An element is a pure substance. In other words, an element cannot be broken down into a simpler substance by physical or chemical means.An element is made up of only one type of atom. An atom consists of a proton, neutron, and an electron. Some common examples of an element would be carbon, oxygen, or iron. The elements are arranged in the periodic table based on their number of protons. For example, sodium has 11 protons, potassium has 19
The number of protons of elements always stays the same.
Each element also has its own unique set of properties.
A compound is a pure substance of two or more elements chemically combined. Elements combine during a chemical change. A particle of a compound is called a molecule.
When the elements combine chemically a new substance is created.
The compound has different properties than the elements that make it
Hydrogen and oxygen are gases but they combine to make liquid water.
Here are some items that combine to make compounds
Table salt is sodium and chlorine
Glucose is made of carbon-hydrogen-oxygen
When elements create a compound they always join in a specific ratio
The ratio of water is hydrogen to oxygen is 2 to 1
If a compound has a different ratio of hydrogen to oxygen then it is not water
Glucose a type of sugar has a ratio of c6 h12 o6 which is 6 carbons 12 hydrogens and 6 oxygens
Glucose will always have this same ratio

A habitat is an ecological area where a plant or animal lives. It may be an island, a tree, or maybe under a rock. The habitat is where an individual can find food, shelter, protection and mates.
A niche is a role or position that an individual has in its environment. A niche may also involve what the individual eats, how it interacts with other living things, and also how it interacts with the nonliving factors. Without ecological niches, there would be less biodiversity, and the ecosystem would not be in balance.
