Today we are going to learn about the wettest animals on the planet...presenting the fish.
In almost all the places where you can find water, be it either salt water or fresh water, you can also find fish. There are fish of all sorts of sizes, colors and shapes, and yet they all have common characteristics which we should know.
Fish are vertebrates, their skeleton is made up of bones or cartilage. They are also cold blooded, their body temperature is not constant, meaning it depends on the water temperature.
This fish appears to be really cold!
All fish have extremities in the form of fins, as you can see in this image, dorsal fins, caudal fin which is the tail, pectoral fin, pelvic fin and anal fin. Another really important fact that one must remember is that almost all fish are covered in scales.
The gills are the fish´s respiratory organ. The respiration process is very interesting; water enters through the mouth and goes to the gills; the gills then get the oxygen and distributes it to the rest of the body through the blood vessels , then the water is expelled through an opening which can be found in the majority of fish behind their head, which is called the gill flap.
Fish reproduce by laying eggs, therefore they are oviparous, and their fertilization can be either external or internal. Some fish are excellent fathers, like this one who protects his babies inside his mouth. It looks as if he is going to eat them but he is actually protecting them. Look at that! it´s amazing isn't it?
Almost all fish are carnivores, eating other fish smaller than themselves and therefore they each have different ways of defending themselves. The most common action to take when feeling threatened is to escape as fast as possible, as in to swim away rapidly. But there are other ways of defending oneself which are much more original. For example, this Clown fish hides itself among these venomous anemones, others imitate or camouflage themselves with their background, by obtaining the color and shape of the plants and rocks around them...Can you see a fish in this image? Wow, well there was indeed a fish and a very hungry one!
Look, this is the largest fish in the world, the Whale shark. Even though it is called a whale shark you must remember it is a shark and not a whale. Whales are not fish, they are aquatic mammals, like theses friendly dolphins. So never forget, whales and dolphins are not fish but mammals.
Now I have a very important fact you must always remember, its extremely important. As you already know fish as well as many other animals, live in water...water is essential for life, and for this reason we must look after it, we must protect it. There are people who dirty nature by throwing rubbish into the rivers and oceans, without thinking about the terrible consequences they are causing. The plastics and substances which contaminate the water, kill a huge amount of animals. Fish, turtles, dolphins, whales, sharks and many more die every day because of contamination. Water is a source of life. We must take care of it and protect it. So now you know, look after nature so that all living creatures can live happily.

How exactly does sound work? If a tree falls in a forest but no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? In this video, you and your kids will be able to answer both those questions. There are sounds all around us. Sound is made from vibrations, which are a series of small, fast movements that move back and forth or from side to side. Even our voices create sound because our vocal cords move from side to side. We can feel it whenever we put our hands on our throats and hum.
When an object vibrates, it causes movement in the surrounding air particles. Those particles bump into other particles, making them vibrate too. This process continue until the particles run out of energy. This movement is called sound waves. Sound waves are what help vibrations travel. Whenever we are close enough to an object's vibrations, the sound waves it creates will reach our ear.
Have you ever heard of pitch and volume? Pitch has to do with the highness or lowness of a sound. Faster vibrations yield a higher pitch while slower vibrations yield a lower pitch. Volume, on the other hand, measures the loudness or quietness of sound. This is also called its intensity or power. The higher a sound's intensity, the higher its volume.

Have you ever seen, in person or in photographs, the giant obelisk in Washington, DC? This tall building at the opposite end of the reflection pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial has quite a bit of history behind it. Named after George Washington, the monument was designed by Robert Mills following a competition for designs held in 1836 by the Washington Monument Society.
The construction of the monument took place in two phases due to lack of funds, political turmoil, and uncertainty about the survival of the country. No construction took place between 1856 and 1876. During the first phase between 1848 and 1856, they constructed the first 150 feet of the monument, composed of a pile of bluestone gneiss unfinished rubble stones held together by mortar.
The remainder of the monument was constructed between 1876 and 1884. It was composed of finished marble surface stones and partially backed by finished granite stones. The difference in the shading of the monument can be seen where the construction was halted and later resumed with the marble from a different source.
Surrounding the monument on the outside perimeter are fifty American flags flying 24 hours a day on a large circle of flagpoles centered on the monument. In 2011, an earthquake in the area slightly damaged the monument with over 150 cracks. Most of the damage occurred in the pyramid section at the top. Speaking of the pyramid top, the monument was originally going to have a flat top instead.

A brand new federal lawsuit may shape the future of artificial intelligence, national security, and the limits of government power. In Anthropic PBC v. Department of War, the AI company behind Claude is asking a federal court to block actions by the Department of Defense after it refused to remove safety restrictions that would allow AI to conduct surveillance on U.S. citizens and operate lethal autonomous drones without human oversight.
The government responded by cutting off contracts and labeling Anthropic a national security supply chain risk, prompting the company to seek a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) in federal court in San Francisco. The complaint raises serious constitutional and administrative law issues, including claims under the First Amendment, Fifth Amendment, and the Administrative Procedure Act.
Even more remarkable, engineers from Google and OpenAI have filed an amicus brief warning about the dangers of giving the military unrestricted access to powerful AI systems.

Nuclear Fusion | Fusion energy explained with Hydrogen atom example | Physics animation video
In this video we will understand how to or more nucleons merge or fuse together to create something more powerful and meaningful.
Let us first understand the meaning of the word NUCLEAR FUSION, Nuclear meaning the process which involves Nucleus and Fusion in English means two or more entities coming together or merging together to form one single entity.
So, nuclear fusion can be simply defined as the fusion or Combination of Nuclei. Scientifically, Nuclear Fusion can be defined as a nuclear reaction, in which lighter nuclei are combined together to form heavier product nuclei with the release of enormous amount of energy.
Lighter Nuclei such as Lithium and Helium when combined together form a Heavier Nucleus. The mass of heavier nucleus is less than the initial reacting nuclei. The word 'heavier' here is phrased in terms of energy released, which is usually enormous, rather than mass. Therefore the law of conservation of energy is satisfied.
Consider the example of two hydrogen nuclei combining to form a deuterium.
The chemical equation for this reaction is1 1H + 1 1H → 2 1H + 0 +1e + 00 v.
Here, one Hydrogen atom combines with another Hydrogen atom giving Deuterium, one Positron and one Neutrino. This Deuterium in turn combines with another Hydrogen nucleus to form a Helium isotope.
That is, 21H + 1 1H → 3 2He(Helium Isotope)
If two such Helium isotopes are fused together, formation of heavier helium takes place.
In other words, 3 2He + 3 2He → 4 2He + 21 1H
These 3steps of nuclear process, where four protons are fused together to form a heavier 4 2He nucleus and enormous amount of energy is a nuclear fusion reaction.
The chemical equation for this nuclear fusion is:
41 1H → 4 2He + 2 0+1e + 2 00v + Q which is the Energy emitted in the Fusion reaction.
(4 protons when fused together give rise to 2 heavier nucleus, 2 positrons, 2 neutrinos and enormous energy.)
But how is this enormous amount of energy being liberated from such a seemingly simple nuclear reaction. To understand this, let us first calculate the loss of mass in the process.
The starting mass is that of four protons, that is 4 X 1.0078 = 4.0312amu, but the final mass of Helium nucleus is 2me= 4.001506amu.
Therefore the loss of mass is 4.0312 - 4.001506 = 0.0297 amu.
This is equivalent to an energy given by Q = (0.0297amu) X 931,5 Mev/amu =27.67 Mev.
Wow......That is a significant energy release coming from the fusion of 4 protons.
However, in spite of such substantial amounts of energy being released in nuclear fusion reactions, there are no full-time nuclear reactors built so far for fusion reaction as it is very hard to control such enormous energy released.
