Episode 1 (0:44) Episode 2 (11:43) Episode 3 (22:43) Episode 4 (34:43) Episode 5 (44:44)

The city of Monstropolis in the monster world is powered by energy from the screams of human children. At the Monsters, Inc. factory, skilled monsters employed as "scarers" venture into the human world to scare children and harvest their screams, through doors that activate portals to the children's bedroom closets. It is considered dangerous work, as human children are believed to be "toxic". Energy production is falling because children are becoming less easily scared, and company chairman Henry J. Waternoose is determined to find a solution. James P. "Sulley" Sullivan is the organization's top scarer, but his chief rival, chameleon-like monster Randall Boggs, is close behind.

One day, Sulley discovers that Randall has left a door activated on the scare floor, and a small girl has entered the factory. After several desperate failed attempts to put her back, Sulley conceals her and takes her out of the factory. He interrupts his best friend Mike Wazowski's date with his girlfriend Celia, and chaos erupts when the child is discovered. Sulley and Mike manage to escape with the child before the Child Detection Agency (CDA) quarantines the restaurant, and back at their home, discover that she is not actually toxic after all. Sulley grows attached to her and calls her "Boo", while Mike is just anxious to be rid of her.

When they smuggle her back into the factory in an attempt to send her home, Randall discovers her and tries to kidnap her, but mistakenly kidnaps Mike instead. He straps Mike to a large machine called "The Scream Extractor", which he intends to use to revolutionize the scaring industry and solve the monster world's energy problems by forcefully extracting screams from kidnapped human children, though not without harming them in the process. Before Randall can use the machine on Mike, Sulley intervenes and reports Randall to Waternoose. Waternoose, secretly in league with Randall, instead exiles Mike and Sulley to the human world in the Himalayas. The two are taken in by a Yeti, who suggests they travel to a nearby village to return to the monster world. Sulley prepares to leave, but Mike angrily refuses to go with him. Meanwhile, Randall is preparing to use the Scream Extractor on Boo, but Sulley arrives and saves her. Randall and Sulley fight, and after Mike returns and the two reconcile, they overpower Randall, take Boo and flee.

Randall pursues them to the giant door vault, and a wild chase ensues among the millions of doors as they move in and out of the storage vault on rails to the factory floor. Boo's laughter causes all the doors to activate, allowing the chase to pass in and out of the human world. Randall attempts to kill Sulley, but Boo overcomes her fear and attacks him. Sulley and Mike trap Randall in the human world, where two residents at a trailer park beat him with a shovel, mistaking him for an alligator. Sulley and Mike then trick Waternoose into revealing his plot with Randall, while Mike secretly records the entire conversation. The CDA then arrests Waternoose, and Sulley and Mike say goodbye to Boo and return her home before her door is shredded to prevent any more contact with her.

With the factory temporarily shut down, Sulley is named the new CEO of Monsters, Inc. Under his leadership, the energy crisis is solved by harvesting children's laughter instead of screams, as laughter has been found to be much more potent. Mike takes Sulley aside, revealing he has rebuilt Boo's door, and only needs one final piece, which Sulley took as a memento. Sulley enters and joyfully reunites with Boo.

Algebra I on Khan Academy: Algebra is the language through which we describe patterns. Think of it as a shorthand, of sorts. As opposed to having to do something over and over again, algebra gives you a simple way to express that repetitive process. It's also seen as a "gatekeeper" subject. Once you achieve an understanding of algebra, the higher-level math subjects become accessible to you. Without it, it's impossible to move forward. It's used by people with lots of different jobs, like carpentry, engineering, and fashion design. In these tutorials, we'll cover a lot of ground. Some of the topics include linear equations, linear inequalities, linear functions, systems of equations, factoring expressions, quadratic expressions, exponents, functions, and ratios.

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Now, it’s true that one of the benefits of flying at 30,000 ft is a smoother ride. This is high in the troposphere, the layer in which most weather occurs. So, there’s less turbulence and fewer storms to navigate around.

But this is not the main reason that planes fly so high.

When you hear the word "work," what is the first thing you think of? Maybe sitting at a desk? Maybe plowing a field? Maybe working out? Work is a word that has a little bit of a different meaning in physics and today, Shini is going to walk us through it. Also, energy and power!

Today you will learn about the amazing animals called penguins. Did you know that penguins are birds? Like all birds, penguins are warm-blooded, have beaks and feathers, and lay eggs. However, penguins cannot fly. Instead of wings, they have flippers, which makes them excellent swimmers.

There are many types of penguins, and they differ in size and by the black and white patterns on their heads. Some species of penguins are the Little Penguin, the Rockhopper Penguin, the Adelie Penguin, the African Penguin, the King Penguin, and the Emperor Penguin.

Penguins are hunters. They hunt in the ocean, and their main food is fish. They can also eat krill, squid, and other small ocean creatures. Penguins’ enemies at sea are larger predators – such as sharks, orcas, and seals.

Penguins live only in the southern hemisphere. Most of them live in Antarctica which is an icy continent at the South Pole. You can also see penguins on the coasts of Africa, Australia, and South America.

Penguins have a thick layer of fat and tightly packed feathers which makes it possible for them to live in very cold climates. When on the ground, they hop or waddle on their hind feet. Penguins can also lie on their stomachs and slide quickly on ice and snow. Usually, penguins live in huge colonies, up to several thousand animals in one place. This helps them protect themselves and their babies against predators and keep warm in low temperatures. Penguins form pairs to lay eggs and take care of the chicks. The mother penguin lays one or two eggs, and the two parents sit on the eggs in turns to keep them warm.

Penguins are very friendly and curious animals. They have no fear of people and eagerly approach them.

In which John Green teaches you about the Progressive Presidents, who are not a super-group of former presidents who create complicated, symphonic, rock soundscapes that transport you into a fantasy fugue state. Although that would be awesome. The presidents most associated with the Progressive Era are Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson. During the times these guys held office, trusts were busted, national parks were founded, social programs were enacted, and tariffs were lowered. It wasn't all positive though, as their collective tenure also saw Latin America invaded A LOT, a split in the Republican party that resulted in a Bull Moose, all kinds of other international intervention, and the end of the Progressive Era saw the United States involved in World War. If all this isn't enough to entice, I will point out that two people get shot in this video. Violence sells, they say.

Hey teachers and students - Check out CommonLit's free collection of reading passages and curriculum resources to learn more about the events of this episode. The era of progressive presidents began with Teddy Roosevelt, who felt that conservation was a national duty: https://www.commonlit.org/text....s/conservation-as-a-
Teddy Roosevelt is remembered for fighting hard for his causes, as exemplified in his famous “Man in the Arena” Speech: https://www.commonlit.org/text....s/the-man-in-the-are

3-day FREE TRIAL! https://bit.ly/2GuGyL2

Developing logic for kids is an essential skill because children who think logically are more likely to have successful learning experiences in school. Logical thinking allows children to make better decisions, solve problems and even think more creatively. A great way to develop logical thinking in your children is to encourage critical thinking. Teachers and parents that provide activities such as matching games, asking open-ended questions and discussing objects that fit together foster these critical thinking skills for their children and students. Activities that develop logic for kids are great exercise for the brain!
This video begins with an explanation of what “objects that fit together” means. The example of a fish and water is given. A fish and water go together because a fish lives in water. But a cat and water would not fit together because cats don’t like to be wet. Another example given is wheels and cars. As the video continues, more examples such as shirts and pants, heads and caps, trees and leaves and rain and umbrellas further explain this type of matching for kids. At the end, the video challenges students to think of more objects that fit together. Other examples could include:
• A lock and a key
• A computer and a mouse
• A toothbrush and toothpaste
• A dog and a bone
