Pucker up. I'm gonna lay some science on you!
When you really think about it, kissing is an odd human behavior. You know, all the rubbing of our faces all over each other. So there must be a good reason why we do it, right? From motherly comforts to testing the genetic compatibility of your "mate", the science of kissing is pretty awesome.

Sheril's book has an extensive bibliography if you'd like to look more closely at any of these studies, but here's a couple that I mentioned:

Check out some beautiful music made from space itself
Click here to SUBSCRIBE, it's FREE! -- http://bit.ly/iotbs_sub
There is no sound in space. In the near-vacuum of space, there is nothing to transmit the physical waves that we need to perceive sound. But that doesn't mean we can't MAKE sound from space. This week, I feature several artists using scientific data to create "space sonification" projects. From the longest palindrome ever created to a chorus created from Earth's magnetic field, these pieces lie at the intersection of art and science. More than just art, they allow us to perceive patterns in complex data in a completely new way
Perhaps it answers the question: If the universe had a voice, what song would it sing?

Thank you for watching Dividing Fractions with KEEP, CHANGE, FLIP Song.
»»-------------¤-------------««»»-------------¤-------------««
Q. How to divide fractions by fractions?
A. Dividing a fraction by a fraction might seem confusing at first, but it is really very simple. All you need to do is flip the second fractions, multiply, and reduce.
Q. What grade levels do this video target?
A. This video targets learning standards in 5th Grade and 6th Grade. This video also targets standards in the UK from KS2 (Year 6) to KS3 (Year 7).
Q. Where did you guys come from?
A. Numberock is a project that I, Mr. Hehn, began as a 5th Grade math teacher of 7 years. It came together after years of experimenting with my lessons trying to figure out the best way to help my students retain the math concepts they were learning.
Q. Does Numberock drive real results in the classroom?
A. I knew I found the secret sauce when not only were my students retaining the concepts longer, they were singing the songs outside of the classroom during recess and at home with their parents during dinnertime. The songs were so catchy, my students couldn't get the math songs out of their head!
During testing, I often found my students humming the melodies in order to jostle their memory of a rule or problem solving process. As we've all experienced, there is something about the power of music that allows us to retain information easier and for longer periods of time. Without getting into the finer details of multi-sensory learning and how it often helps the students who most need the help, the power of a catchy song is hard to deny.
Q. I love your songs. Where can I experience more of what NUMBEROCK has to offer?
We have additional teaching resources that are always expanding over at https://www.numberock.com. For the low price of $4.95/month, premium members gain access to video-aligned activities like worksheets, printable posters/anchor charts, task cards, self-graded assessments, games, and more.
Coming Soon:
1. Self-Graded Assessments | These will soon be available for every Common Core and TEKS standard from 2nd-6th Grade so you'll be able to track and monitor student progress while your students complete standards-aligned quizzes that are integrated with the NUMBEROCK video they just watched.
2. Number Notes | Were currently working on creating exercises where students will be able to take notes artistically on printable templates featuring characters from the videos.
Research has shown that this will help to integrate their artistic side side of the student's brain with the mathematical side of their brain which helps with long-term memory retention. Our own research has shown us that teacher's who use start using these templates love them! It seems to be a natural fit as we move beyond our unique auditory learning tools into visual learning tools, that when used in concert, cater to the different types of learners that you teach everyday.
🍎 Hope to see you at https://numberock.com! 🍎

✏️READ THE LYRICS:
Wrapped myself up in all the tattered pages; a forlorn fable
Faded lines, my message in a bottle is shattering now
And sinking down
I'm growing to know time as it goes
Everything's changing
Break me with that truth take all my fractions
Shaping something new out of the fragments
Light up this old soul
I was broken now I'm golden
Now I'm golden
Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh
Ooo Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh
Grasping out
Tell me that you hope to hear
The words resound
That growing to know
Time, as it goes, is life
Break me with that truth take all my fractions
Shaping something new out of the fragments
Light up this old soul
I was broken now I'm golden
Now I'm golden
Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh
Ooo Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh
Open my eyes
This is life
Change comes with time
This is life
Break me with that truth
Break me with that truth
Break me with that truth take all my fractions
Shaping something new out of the fragments
Light up this old soul
I was broken now we're golden
Now we're golden
Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh
Ooo Woah Oh Woah Oh Woah Oh
Open my eyes, this is life (Now we're golden)
Change comes with time (Now we're golden)
I was broken now I'm golden
Now I'm golden

NEW: Follow-up video with puzzle solution is here: https://youtu.be/leFep9yt3JY
In this video the Mathologer uses infinite fractions to track down the most irrational of all irrational numbers. Find out about how the usual suspects root 2, e, and pi stack up against this special number and where the irrationality of this special number materialises in nature.
Another video to check out is this leisurely lecture by Professor John Barrow: https://youtu.be/zCFF1l7NzVQ and his write-up in Plus+ magazine: https://plus.maths.org/content..../chaos-numberland-se
If you are reasonably clued up mathwise have a look at the following VERY nice textbook chapter on infinite fractions by Professor Paul Loya from Binghampton University: http://www.math.binghamton.edu/dikran/478/Ch7.pdf In particular, check out section 7.5.1. The mystery of π and good and best approximations. I use the definition of "best rational approximation" given there. And if you are okay with all this and are having transcendental numbers for breakfast, definitely also don't miss out on the last section 7.10. Epilogue: Transcendental numbers, π, e, and where’s calculus?
Enjoy :)
In this video, we will learn the basics of fractions and the different types.

grandeurs.

Seriously, the foundation for all higher mathematics is laid with many of the concepts that we will introduce to you here: negative numbers, absolute value, factors, multiples, decimals, and fractions to name a few. So buckle up and move your seat into the upright position. We're about to take off!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom.
