These red squirrels help disperse acorns, which contain the seeds of the oak tree, by burying the acorns underground. There is an outer shell that protects the seeds and breaks down so that the new oak trees can grow. Seed dispersal is so important, especially with oak trees because oak trees need so much space to grow and thrive.
Eurasian Red Squirrels have an important job!
