-----------
1 - Do you know what the difference is between seas and oceans?
The most important difference between seas and oceans is that seas are a loot smaller. and they belong, to the oceans. actually, they are a part of them; the seas, are the part of the oceans, which are closest to land. We all know that on our planet we have, 5 oceans: Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic and Antarctic. Butโฆ do you know how many seas there are? Well there are 57. and the largest are the Arabian Sea, the South China Sea, Caribean Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Bering Sea.
2- Did you know that at the bottom of the sea, there are volcanoes, and large plains?
Although a lot of people think that the bottom of the sea is flat, itโs not true. Actually, the bottom of the Sea is like land, it has mountains, volcanoes, caves, great planes and even waterfalls!!. Itโs so deep and big, that although it may seem incredible, there are many places where humans have not reached yet. Actually, 95% of the sea, remains unexplored. Thereโs so much to discover!
3- Do you know that the Everest isnโt the largest mountain in the world?
Well no! The largest mountain on Earth is in the sea and itโs called Mauna Kea. This inactive volcano, located in a Hawaiian island, measures from the sea surface to its tip, 4207 meters. But if we measure it from its base, which is at the bottom of the ocean, it measures ten thousand meters high, and if we compare this to the 8 thousand 848 meters of the Everest, they turn the Mauna Kea into the largest mountain in the world. What is true, is that the Everest, is the highest point on Earth.
4- What do you think we know more about? Planet mars or the oceans?
Well, although it may seem incredible, we know Marsโ surface more and better than the bottom of the sea. Human beings know very little about species which habitat the oceans, and there are still many to be discovered. Itโs probable that most of these species are very small organisms but scientists believe there are still fish, and mammals which have not been discovered yet. Each year we discover a mean of 2000 new species.
5- Did you know that the sea is the biggest rubbish dump in the universe?
Yes, sadly, the sea has been used for a long time, as a dump, without realising oceans are the lungs of our planet. More than 50% of the air we breathe is produced at sea. The Mediterranean Sea,, is the most contaminated in the world, but sadly, most oceans are at an alarming stage. Plastics, pesticides , chemical substances, oilโฆ all affect the seaโs health and living things within it. More than 100 thousand marine animals like penguins, whales, dolphins, turtles, fish and birds... die every year, only because of the plastic in the seaโฆ
Please respect and take care of nature, donโt throw rubbish to the sea or rivers and always recycle. If we take care of the water, if we take care of the sea, we will make all living things live in a better world, cleaner and happier.

Hello friends! Welcome to a new Happy Learning video.
Have you ever wondered how plants feed? To answer this question, we need to understand photosynthesis!
Photosynthesis is a process in which plants make their own food to be able to grow and develop. In order to perform photosynthesis, they need various elements: sunlight, carbon dioxide, obtained from air and water. They also need chlorophyll, which is a green substance that all plants have, and is fundamental for performing photosynthesis, since it could not happen without it. By the way! chlorophyll is what gives all plants their green colour!
But how does photosynthesis take place?
Look at this plant. As you can see, its roots are anchored to the ground, and through them, the plant absorbs water and minerals in the soil.
Water with minerals are transported up the stem, reaching the leaves. The leaves are full of tiny pores, called stomata, which absorb carbon dioxide that air in their surrounding contains.
All this containing water, minerals and carbon dioxide is called raw sap.
Now itโs chlorophyllโs turn!
The chlorophyll in the leaves has all the necessary ingredients for photosynthesis to take place and when it receives sunlight, the process begins by transforming the raw sap into elaborated sap, which also circulates around the plant and works as food.
All plants feed from elaborated sap, and they store it in their roots, like a carrot. Or in their fruit, like an apple or a pear.
Now we know how photosynthesis takes place butโฆ
Why is it so important?
Without plants, there would not be life on Earth, we wouldn't have oxygen to breathe or food to feed on. You already know that herbivores eat plants and carnivores, eat herbivores. Plants are fundamental for the food chain. And they are also fundamental for our respiration. Actually, when humans breathe, we turn oxygen into carbon dioxide, quite the opposite of when plants perform photosynthesis. A curious fact you need to know is that, at night, because plants donโt have sunlight to photosynthesise, they breathe like humans do. They take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Remember that!
And one last thing so you understand the importance of photosynthesis. When plants absorb dirty and contaminated gases, they transform them into pure air, into oxygen! This way, they clean the atmosphere and all nature. Plants are the best solution to fight against contamination, donโt you think?

What are you waiting for? Hi kids, today we are going to meet the bear, a very special mammal, who is very cute.
As you can see in the video the majority of bears have a very big and chubby body, with short legs and a long snout.
Like most mammals, its body is covered in hair. A bearโs fur can vary a lot in colour. It can go from snow white like a polar bear, to Brown like this grizzly bear, or to White and black like these friendly panda bears.
Although bears are very heavy and big animals, they are very capable of climbing trees with a lot of agility, however this is not always the case. They are also very competent swimmers.
Bears are omnivorous animals; they eat meat and vegetables, like us humans, however they are much greedier. The panda bear, for example, spends twelve hours a day eating bamboo and we all know how much the majority of bears love honey. To obtain most of the food they eat, they use their very developed sense of smell, itโs even better than a dogs.
There is a very special characteristic that bears have that converts them into a very interesting animal.
When the cold arrives in the freezing winter the majority of bears hibernate. They spend every day sleeping, they donโt wake up, they donโt eat, they donโt sleep, they dot drink and they donโt even pooโฆ They live of the fat they accumulated during spring, summer and autumn. That is why they are so greedy, because they have to eat enough during these seasons, so that they can sleep all Winter.
Like all mammals, bears are viviparous, that is to say they are born form their mothers womb and the baby bears are also born without hair, teeth and are blind.
Bears are hunted for their fur, as coats and carpets can be made from them, and this is why they are in danger of extinction. If we donโt take care of them they can completely disappear from the face of the earth or they would only be able to remain in zoos.
An ability that bears have that always catches everyoneโs attention is that they can stand on their back legs. This can be a very terrifying show as they can appear huge when they do so.
The most common bear is the grizzly bear; they can measure up to approximately three meters and weigh about 1477 pounds. Itโs a lot, isnโt it?
Well know you now a bit more a bout bears, and even though they are not very lovable, they are super interesting!

Hello friends! Welcome to a new Happy Learning video.
Today, weโre going to learn about the human musculoskeletal system, Itโs what lets us move around!
The musculoskeletal system, is made up of two systems, the muscular system, and the skeletal system.
The muscular system is the active part of the musculoskeletal system. Muscles are between our bones and skin and they are joined to the bones through tendons. They are elastic organs that can be lengthened, or shortened, causing some body part movement. Us humans, have approximately 630 muscles.
According to the movements that they make, we can differentiate, voluntary and involuntary muscles. Voluntary muscles move only when we want them to and the involuntary muscles are those that move without us realising, like our heart or stomach, that are always in movement.
The skeletal system is made up of all bones and cartilage. The Skeleton gives us our shape, that differentiates us from other living things and allows us to walk, run or jump. Our body has 206 bones and each one of them has their own name. Some of them are, skull, that protects our brain, the spine, that maintains us stable and upright, the jaw, allows us to move our mouths to chew food, Ribs, that protect our heart or lungs and femur, the longest bone in the human body and is found in our legs.
Bones are joined with each other by joints.
They are divided into three groups, depending on their level of mobility:
Immobile or fixed joints, donโt have any mobility, like the ones that join the skull.
Semi-mobile joints, that do have some mobility, but not a lot, like vertebrae (vertebri) in our backs.
Mobile joints, that have great mobility, like our elbow or knee.
Now weโve got to know a little more about our musculoskeletal system. Now, we need to do plenty of physical exercise to make it work brilliantly and maintain ourselves really healthy.

-----------
Hello Happy Friends! Welcome to a New Happy Learning Video. Today, weโre going to get to know unicellular and multicellular living organisms.
We all know, that all living things are made up of cells, but many of them are form of a single cell. They are called micro or unicellular organisms. Although they are very simple organisms, they live an independent life, meaning they perform all vital functions by themselves. Do you remember what these functions are? Well done! Nutrition, Relationship, and reproduction.
Some Examples of unicellular beings are bacteria and protozoans.
Some of these organisms are able to make their own food but most of them feed on other living beings.
They are so small they can only bee seen through a microscope, thatโs why we also call them microbes or microorganisms. The truth is that they are a little bad for us humans because they cause diseases, but others are very beneficial, like ones which turn milk into yogurt o cheese. Hmmmm so yummy!
Living things who made up of more than one cell, are called multicellular beings. Like plants, or animals. All cells in these organisms are alive. They feed on substances they take to the membrane and they reproduce, by increasing in size and dividing into two. Also, lots of them can move.
Cells are very diverse and they join in biological tissues depending on their shape and function. Two examples of biological tissues are the epithelial tissue, our skin, and muscular tissues, our muscles. These organs, likewise, form groups like the respiratory or digestive system.
Well friends, now you know about unicellular and multicellular beings. Easy Peasy!

What are you waiting for? Hello friends and welcome to a new Happy Learning video. Today we are going to learn about the first stage of our prehistory, today let's look at Paleolithic.
First of all what we must understand is that prehistory is divided into three different periodsโฆthe Paleolithic, Neolithic and the Bronze age.
The Paleolithic begins with the appearance of the first human beings and ends 8000 years before Christ.
During the Paleolithic period, people were nomads meaning they didn't live in one place, no, they were constantly on the move in search of animals to hunt. As they were hunters and gatherers, they needed to follow the animals in order to capture them and at the same time they collected wild fruits found on the way.
They lived in tribes, in small groups formed by families, and they found refuge in caves where they would paint on the wall. These paintings were done with a mixture of charcoal, earth, animal fat and water. Look here are a few examplesโฆtruth is, its absolutely fascinating to think that these first paintings, these first artistic representations, were drawn thousands of years ago. Don't you think?
Both Paleolithic men and women wore animal skins which they had hunted previously and they used tools such as an ax and spears made out of stones, wood and bones which they themselves carved.
With the passing of time, or rather centuries, these first human beings became more and more intelligent and they began to domesticate animals such as dogs, goats, sheep and pigs; they also began to cultivate plants which was then eaten. It is in these times, with the arrival of agriculture and farming, when everything changed, when man stopped being a nomad and becomes sedentary and the fist villages are madeโฆThis is when the Paleolithic period ends and the Neolithic begins but that is a different stage in prehistory which we will learn about in another video.
Did you find this voyage into the past interesting?
Well I doโฆso goodbye friends and don't forget to subscribe to Happy Learning.

What are you waiting for? Did you now that the fastest bird is the peregrine hawk? This bird of prey can reach up to 400 kilometers per hour whist free falling. Wow itโs so fast, poor dove if it were to cross its pathโฆ
On the other hand, the American Woodcock is the slowest bird on the planet, flying at a mere speed of 8 km per hour. Oh, check out
itยดs cute little babies!
And did you know that the fastest land bird is the ostrich? This huge bird, actually the largest in the world, cannot fly but can reach up to 70 kilometers per hourโฆrunningโฆitโs faster than a moped!
This tiny hummingbird also holds an impressive record. Besides being the smallest bird, it can also flap its wings 200 times per second or in other words, 12 thousand times in a minuteโฆincredible! They beat so fast that you can hardly even see them, and it looks like they are floating in the air whilst eatingโฆ
Did you know that the penguin is the aquatic bird champion? Penguins donโt fly and on land are rather clumsy, but they are incredible in the water. Some species can reach the speed ofโฆ36 kilometers per hour. They swim four times faster than a person canโฆbut the most impressive penguin is the emperor penguin. A person can dive to the depth of 260 meters whereas this penguin species dives 535 meters deep and can hold its breath for 5 to 18 minutes. Itโs a bird, it has a beak and feathers but it seems as if it wants to be a fishโฆ
Now we have learnt a few records and fascinating facts about birds. The truth is it is beautiful observing them fly in the sky or swim in the sea but as we are always reminding you in Happy Learning, so as to continue enjoying them, we must look after our environment; do not contaminate the air, the sky, the rivers and seas. We must take care of our nature and all that is around us, and like that we will be able to live in a happier world.

Today we are going to learn about a very special form of relationship between species: symbiosis!
Normally when people talk about "symbiosis", they're talking about two or more different organisms cooperating to better survive and reproduce. Here we will look how evolutionary biologists understand symbiosis, all its different forms, and why it matters!

Hello friends! Welcome to a new Happy Learning video.
Today, weโre going to learn about of the first and most important of human civilisations, today, weโre going to learn aboutโฆ Mesopotamia!
The word Mesopotamia means โbetween two riversโ in greek! So this civilisation was named because it was situated between two rivers: Tigris and Euphrates.
Within these fertile lands, the first ever city-states were born, four thousand years before Christ! The most important cities were Ur, Urk and Lagash.
These city-states were independent from each other, like small different countries. They were surrounded by a great wall to protect themselves. The Ziggurat, a temple where priests lived, was built in the center of the city. Here, they controlled the trade, agriculture and taxes. The supreme priest had the city's political and religious power
Agricultural fields spread across these cities, which were traversed by irrigation channels that used the riverโs water to water cultivations and animals would drink. Most of the cityโs citizens were farmers and shepherds, but there were also artesans that sold their own products at the markets.
Because of their well-being, both cities began to grow, but so did the conflicts between them due to the control of land.
These battles arose military leaders that little by little turned into monarchs, Kings!
Between the years three thousand a one thousand B.C., Mesopotamian lands were conquered by various towns or cities. The first one was the Akkadian Empire, then the Babylonian Empire, followed by the Assyrian Empire and finally the Persian Empire.
So weโve got to know part of Mesopotamiaโs history, but do you know why it has been such an important civilisation for humanity?
Well there are many reasons! The first one is, because Mesopotamia was where, around 3500 B.C., the first written language was found. At first, it was composed by simple drawings called pictograms, look at these examples.
Over time, these drawings were simplified and started to transform into symbols, which is what we know today as cuneiform (cuniform) writing. As you can see, this writing was made with a wooden punch over clay boards.
Another great contribution mesopotamia made was its art. They created the arc and vault, that helped them construct magnificent temples and palaces. To decorate the walls and doors within these temples and palaces they used paintings like this one, where the King Ashurbanipal is hunting lions.
By the way, before we say goodbye, Do you know what country Mesopotamia is today?
Well itโsโฆ Irak! you can see it here.

What are you waiting for? The ecosystem
Hello friends and welcome to a new Happy Learning video. Today we are going to learn about the ecosystems.
Butโฆdo you know what an ecosystem is? An ecosystem is a community of living things in a given area. For example, this river is an ecosystem and is made up of water, the river bed, the river banks and all the living creatures which live in it, such as this frog, these lily pads or this shy duck which hides as soon as it sees us.
An ecosystem can be very small, such as this puddle, or very big such as this enormous desertโฆ
The ecosystems are made up of two components: the Abiotic and the Biotic components.
The Abiotic components include the non-living things like the ground, the climate, or the water and it determines which living things can survive in an ecosystem. For example a desert is a very dry place and so only animals and plants which can survive without much water can live there, like this slippery lizard or these humped back camels.
On our planet there are loads of ecosystems, and they are divided into aquatic and terrestrial. (And these can be either aquatic or terrestrial)
There are two types of aquatic ecosystems: freshwater and Marine.
The freshwater ones are those which have freshwater such as rivers or lakes where Lily pads, otters, or frogs liveโฆWhoops, and here are our friendly ducks againโฆ
The marine ecosystems are those found in the sea such as this beautiful colorful reef so full of life, fish, corals, octopuses and many more fascinating creatures.
When talking about the terrestrial ecosystems we imagine prairiesโฆ large plains in the savanna were zebras or antelope like to grazeโฆjungles where trees are extremely high and are the homes for these monkeys called orangutansโฆor even mountain ecosystems where there tends to be plenty of snow.
Well now we know a bit more about ecosystems and as always, on behalf of Happy Learning we ask you to please look after themโฆ they are so beautiful, we mustnโt destroy them. (We must preserve them)
