Today our task is to explain the science which affects your daily life – the sound. The question which pops up in most of the children’s mind is; where does this sound come from? Since sounds are all around us, therefore, every kid tries to figure out where is it coming from? Well, kids buckle up because there are lots of things you’ll learn about sound today.
Sound mainly comes from different sources. And what are sources? Well, the source is anything where the sound comes from.

And the sound is the type of energy, therefore, anything which makes any sound also uses energy. For example, when you turn on the refrigerator, it starts to produce a humming sound. This means the fridge is using energy to produce the sound. Amazing, right? A fun fact which majority of the kids don’t know is that; light travels faster than sound. The Spanish Flu, as the virus is now known, made its way around the world mindless of human politics, borders and morality, infecting soldiers and civilians, rich and poor alike. Its spread was so wide-reaching that the only continent it left untouched was Antarctica.
By the time the virus had run its course, approximately 500 million people, roughly one third of the world’s population, had fallen ill.
Conservative estimates place the death toll at 20 million people, but it is now widely accepted that the much more likely figure lies somewhere between 50 - 100 million.

During the Great Patriotic War against the Germans from 1941 to 1945, the Soviet Union mobilized all of its resources to defend the Motherland. Over 34 million people bore arms during the four years of the conflict, including women, old men, and youngsters. It is estimated that thousands of children under the age of 16 years old fought in the ranks of the Red Army. One of them was Sergei “Seryozha” Aleshkov, the youngest soldier of World War Two.
