Escape was one of the many ways that enslaved people resisted their captivity in the system of American slavery. The Underground Railroad was not literally a railroad. It was a network of people, routes, and safe houses that helped people escape from slavery in the south to freedom in the north. Today we'll talk about the origins of the Underground Railroad, the systems that helped people escape, and the people who helped along the route.

The end of the Napoleonic Wars left the great powers of Europe shaken. Judging from the destruction that had been wrought across the continent, it seemed to the powers that be that the Enlightenment had liberated the people, and led to disaster. So, everybody got together in Vienna to have a Congress, and to try to put Europe "right" again. By "right" I mean they wanted to go back to the old days of kings, queens, and nobles running the show. But this new yearning for the past pervaded the continent. Roomanticism arose at the same time, looking back at (imagined) golden age of Medieval Times. Today we'll talk about the Congress of Vienna, The Holy Alliance, and the Romantic movement across the arts.

How Many Faces, Edges And Vertices Does A Square Pyramid Have?
Here we’ll look at how to work out the faces, edges and vertices of a square pyramid.
We’ll start by counting the faces, these are the flat surfaces that make the pyramid. A square pyramid has 5 faces altogether - 4 triangular faces, as well as 1 rectangular face.
Next we’ll work out how many edges the pyramid has, which are where two faces meet. A square pyramid has 8 edges.
Next we’ll count the corners of the pyramid (the corners). A square pyramid has 5 vertices.

How are concave and convex lenses different?
A convex lens is thicker in the middle compared to the edges. It is also called a converging lens because the rays and bent together. A convex lens is also called a positive lens because of the location of the focal point.
A concave lens is thinner in the middle compared to the edges.
It is called a diverging lens because the rays of light spread out.
A concave lens also is called a negative lens because the focal point is behind the lens.
Learn how to use the trip ratios to find missing side lengths. Do you remember SOHCHATOA ? This is an easy way to remember the trigonometric ratios. Sine equals opposite over hypotenuse, cosine is hypotenuse over adjacent, and Tangent equals opposite over adjacent.
Once you identify which trig ratio should be used finding the side length of the right triangle is straightforward.
